I went to this place to purchase a vehicle. The salesman never told me the price until all paperwork was done and time to sign.

I checked the Kelley Blue Book value of vehicle and found it was 5,000 cheaper according to the book.

Salesman also said that he could do nothing about the price. To add insult they only gave me one key to the vehicle, no spare key. Thanks guys! !!!

I'm a Master Mechanic, your report of NO transmission fluid is a false report

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 30, 2005

Your Automatic transmission will NOT move an inch if it's two or more quarts low on fluid (They usualy hold between 8 and 12 Quarts)

The transmission MUST be checked with the engine running, and the transmission in park or neutral, otherwise you get a false reading.

The very fact that your transmission would drive proves there WAS transmission fluid in it.

Don't go to Sumter Chrysler Dodge..go to Manning

AUTHOR: Janie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 17, 2005

My husband has tried to deal with Sumter Chrysler Dodge several times. Every time, he gets the same salesman. He's one of those that has beady eyes and talks real slow and laid back. I can't stand him. The first time my husband dealt with this man, he did the same thing. He would make you wait around and he would never return phone calls.

My husband got aggravated with him and told him to not bother. He told the man that they could keep the car. Well, the salesman called me the next day and said the car was ready. My husband dealt with him last week because we were interested in getting a new vehicle. This salesman kept putting everything off.

He would tell my husband, everything would be ready in an hour. An hour would pass, and still nothing. My husband got tired of his actions, and he called to ask for a different salesman. The salesman that answered the phone was the other salesman's cousin! So that went right down the drain.

I told my husband to talk to Stokes Craven Ford in Manning instead. They handle Dodge and Chrysler vehicles. The salesmen there are very nice and keep you up to date on everything. And if you have a vehicle from Sumter Chrysler Dodge, make sure you keep check on all routine check-ups.

My parents own a van from Sumter Chrsyler Dodge. My mom would take the van there for the routine oil changes. While they're doing the oil changes, they're suppose to check everything else on the van. They have a checklist and when they're done, everything should be checked off. Well, my mom started having problems with her van, so my dad looked under the hood. The transmission was getting ready to mess up because it didn't have any transmission fluid in it.

Few days before, she had taken the van to Sumter Chryler Dodge for the routine check-up. They put a check mark by the transmission fluid, but no one had really checked it.

My dad checked and there wasn't a leak or anything that could've caused it to drain quickly. They called Sumter Chrysler Dodge and made them fix it. Buyers Beware when you go to Sumter Chrysler Dodge.

No price shown -- a big red flag.

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, November 21, 2004

When you're at a somewhat legitimate dealer, the cars will always be marked with a cash price. If no price is shown, or only a down payment and/or monthly payment, they're trying to conceal the real price. You can bet it will be much more than the car is worth. Get out of there. If you insist on dealing with one of these lots, a salesman should be willing to immediately tell you a cash price, without checking your credit or anything. If he doesn't, get out of there.

Red McComb's Dodge Bait & Switch

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, November 21, 2004

Went in to Red McCombs Dodge to ask about a Caravan for my wife's son. No way would they give me a price on one. Said it had to do with his credit and such. Came up with their ad in the paper with a price, said they couldn't find the vehicle. What a rip. Went to Gunn, they were very nice.
