Ah, all the hallmarks of someone taken in by an MLM

AUTHOR: Steve - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 21, 2012

This is by the by the book stuff:

-Calling my criticisms a "rant". I was not ranting at all. Simply trying to warn people against MLMs, which is exactly the kind of thing this site is for.

-Saying I must be "bitter". This is a favorite strawman that MLMers like to repeat. Like most things they say, they are simply parotting what was told to them by their upline. I am not "bitter" at all. I do find it very sad that the vast majority of people in an MLM will lose money by mathematical necessity, however.

-Implying I am envious of their money. Since so few people in an MLM make any money at all, this doesn't make any sense. A lot of people are able to fool themselves into thinking they are making money, and a few others outright lie about it, but very few people make money in these things.

-Talking about a "J.O.B" - This little gem is right out of the Amway playbook. The idea that having a job is somehow onerous is absurd. At least in a job you get paid, as opposed to paying someone else. Entrepreneurship is great, and absolutely necessary, but being in an MLM is NOT entrepreneurship.

Calling me "poverty minded": This is one of the best, and most ironic lines you will hear. Like check cashing places and payday loan joints, MLMs tend to attract the poor and uneducated. Hang out with well off people (and not just the ones your upline hand picks to "inspire" you), and you will see that they absolutely laugh at MLMs, and rightly so; that is what happens when you can perform simple math.

Actually, even the uneducated are catching on that MLM is just a way to lose money; that is why Trivita attempts to claim it is NOT an MLM:

This is not MLM, Direct Sales, Franchising, or any other opportunity you might have seen or tried in the past. This is an entirely new business model that is setting a new standard in how to develop, profit from, and sustain a long term business from home.

lol, it is always an "entirely new business model," isn't it?

Attacking a company that isn't responsible

AUTHOR: G-Dog - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 21, 2012

You are attacking a company that isn't even responsible for this persons problem. Your posts have nothing to do with the problem because you've never even tried the product. By your rant about us MLM's and the money we make, sounds like your a bitter person that has to work and work and work. Yes those who work and I do work. I own 3 health clinics and I am a health therapist and know the value of these products. Yes we make good money, those that put the effort into it. In case you didn't notice Trivita is all over the TV and you can buy those orders.

In case you didn't notice Trivita has an A rating with the BBB. In case you didn't notice there is not one complaint on them. None anywhere. This all started because someone posted a complaint on a company that is a store and someone else we won't mention any names posted something that is totally irrelevant to any of this so starts bashing all MLMs.

Yes I will defend a company I have worked with, if that offends you too bad because the bottom line is I don't have to get up and do a J.O.B. I go on vacations 5 times a year. We just got back from Hawaii last week, company paid. So if that offends you too bad. I'm done since I have more important things to do then argue with a poverty minded person that blames the word for his problems. Have a great day.

One of the MANY problems with MLMs...

AUTHOR: Steve - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 21, 2012

...is that there are a ton of "independent distributors" who get paid 100% on commission.  These people are neither sophisticated not accountable, so you ALWAYS get these kinds of abuses. And you will always find other dupes of the same MLM defending the company, because they claim that "bad" MLMer is the exception.

Even if they were all super honest, the markup on MLM products is so absurdly high that purchasing them is incredibly stupid.

THIS IS NOT TRIVITA

AUTHOR: G-Dog - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 21, 2012

HOTVITAMANS. COM is not part of Trivita. This website is an individually owned website and is no way or any way affiliated with Trivita. The person that built this site carries Trivita products and is an affiliate of Trivita.  Trivita is a long standing company that has been around almost 14 years with a 0 track record for ripping people off. You can contact them anytime, they are always available.

I am a distributor for them and have been for 6 years. Trivita is no more responsible for doing anything about this on Hotvitamins then they would be if someone bought the product off Amazon or Ebay.

As far as this person not getting their bottle of Nopalea, and not getting no response, I find that hard to believe. I called and had no problem getting through since they are open 24/7. There is such as a thing as filing a dispute on a credit card and getting your money back. This person obviously is NOT telling the whole story.

This is an MLM

AUTHOR: Steve - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 22, 2012

MLM's are *always* shady companies you should not do business with. That being said, MLM's usually do at least deliver their (overpriced) products, so this one must be especially bad.
