 Victoria Discount Tires out in Langford, is/was owned by Trevor Lind. City Discount Tires in Esquimalt is owned by Chuck Marlow. Mr Makow, works for us, as do several other employees.  My accontant has tried, by email and regular mail, to contact you numerous times. To date, you have failed to reply. We are more then willing to pay for any services we recieve, we need and have asked for some clarifications. You seem unwilling to provide. Now I am told you entered our building, illegally, and removed articles and threatened a 64 year old handicapped employee. That is no way to carry on a legitimate business sir. Do not order employees to ' empty the till" into your wifes purse, it just can not happen. As for attacking a mans reputation, with false statements, grow up sir.

Our intent at this point, after you clarify, is to pay you, get someone else to fix the damage you did, and bill you for the service.

First of all, I would like to mention that I am not going to address the author of this complaint as I am really not interested in any verbal jousting - I am not going to stoop so low (which is probably what the author wants and expects). Rather, I am going to address the potential audience and let them form their own opinion.

The owner of City Discount Tires of 402 B Esquimalt Rd, Victoria, BC, Mr. George Jerome Makow who is also the author of the above complaint is a scam artist and a liar with a long list of complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau, and he is well known to the Victoria Police. He also has a complaint filed against him on
this very site, and to further illustrate the nature of his character, he has been charged with cruelty to animals and his dog was seized by the BC SPCA.

Mr. Makow phoned me on April 15, 2013 and requested electrical services. I completed my work and submitted my invoice. I tried to get my payment for over a month to no avail. He was rude, making up excuses, and he hung up several times on my accountant.
 
At this point it was quite clear to me that he does not intend, nor had he ever intended to pay for my services. I did a search on the internet and the information I found on him confirmed my suspicion that he is a crook, liar and a con artist, as well an animal abuser. He changed the name of his business from Victoria Discount
Tires to City Discount Tires, and also changed the location from Langford to Esquimalt, the reason for which I am leaving to anyone's imagination.

Needless to say, to this day Mr. Makow has not paid me for my services (and material) and I do not believe that he ever will. The amount he owes me is not worth my time and money to take him to small claims court (which is exactly what he is counting on).

I run a reputable business that is based on quality work at very competitive rates. I pride myself on being honest, punctual, courteous, and professional.
