Before purchasing anything from this company/website, try doing the following.  Call the number on the website to see if someone answers.  The lack of an answer will demonstrate the reliability of this company, and how difficult it will be to seek redress when they inevitably fail to deliver your order.  Indeed, the fact that they do not answer phone calls, return emails, or demonstrate even minimal customer service will show you that this company is a fraud.

The second thing I would recommend doing would be to read the language of the return policy and the website.  You will notice that the language is incoherent, confusing, and seemingly translated from a computerized translation service.  This too will give you an idea of the difficulty you will have in dealing with this company.   Do yourself a favor and use a reliable company for your online fruit orders.  Just beware, this company, in an apparent attempt to cover their indiscretions, has created multiple websites (probably because they need to keep changing their website on account of customer complaints).

My Story:
In August 2011 I placed an order for a six-month "exotic fruit" subscription through buyexoticfruits.com. Payment of $250.49 was made at that time. Per the website a shipment of unique exotic fruit was to be delivered once per month for six consecutive months (i.e. from September 2011 to February 2012.

The first month's fruit was shipped shortly after placing my order. However, the second shipment did not arrive the following month. I therefore contacted the company and inquired as to the delay. They said they had a "computer" problem, but that they would make a second shipment right away.  A second shipment was made several weeks later. Several months went by without a shipment of fruit.  Thus, in February 2012 I contacted the company for an answer. I was told a third shipment would be sent out immediately (a shipment which was supposed to have been made in October/November 2011). No shipment was made.  Therefore, I contacted the company and requested a refund.

The company's website expressly states they have a "no hassle return policy" and that you may cancel your membership at any time for any reason..." I was told by "Claudia" that a refund would be processed, and I sent a follow up email, through their website, confirming the same. A couple weeks went by with a refund being made.  Accordingly, I contacted the company, and this time spoke with "Andy."  Andy refused to issue me a refund, despite his company's policy, and was very hostel on the phone (including hanging up on me).  He eventually called back, and I was told that the owner of the company, Nerry Pathak, would offer me a new 6 month subscription starting immediately.  I accepted this offer, on the condition that if the company missed a single month's shipment "I would receive a full refund."  A confirmation email was sent, and the company confirmed the agreement.  However, no shipment was made.  

I have attempted to contact them about my full refund. No one has answered my calls (during their posted business hours) or my emails, despite forewarning that I would make a complaint to the BBB.  Indeed, the company has been rude, uninterested in resolving the matter, and arrogant about their theft of and faulty services.

I haven't received my items yet either. I placed the order in May, but keep being given the run around about when it's going to actually ship. The company seems to have changed their phone number again. They claim they offer refunds, but I still haven't received that either.

I love fruit, but I live in Nebraska and we are about as far from"exotic" as you can get.  I went to the buyexoticfruits.com site and was considering making a purchase.  I am so glad I came to this site first.  I definitely will not be making buys from such an awful company.  I have had numerous experiences with horrible customer service and I really feel for the victim in this case.  If I were you, I wouldnt have settled for anything less than a FULL refund.  It should have been the least that they did.  If this company were truly reputable and actually wanted to "retreat" the ripoff report, they should have offered you a FULL refund AND a free 6 month subscription to re-earn your trust.  Some people are just too greedy, i guess.  I also could not believe that these crooks tried to blackmail you by holding your money on the condition of "retreating" (LOL) your ripoff report.  In any event, they definitely lost my sale.

I'm so glad you received your refund.  I'm not happy that it took them this long, and I'm disgusted that they pretty much pulled the "Retract this report and we will release your funds"

No.  No you'll release my funds or answer my attorney on the next phone call.  Balls of steel.  Straight steel.  I can tell you just from reading this whole thing again, it makes my blood boil.  I hope the "owner" reads this.  It sucks because looking at their site, it sounds like something I'd love to do.  Honestly.  But the ethics and customer service make me sick.  I hope the company goes under.  If they keep it up like this, I don't know how they can keep the business afloat.

   I'm convinced that this company must be run by morons because no true business owner could possibly be this dim.   

  After months of trying to get a refund because they did not deliver, they reply to Ripoff Report with a flippant message about how easy and hassle free it is to obtain a refund.   I suspect they think everyone reading their responses are also idiots. 

  They then blatently hold back a refund which the OP is clearly owed, on the condition that he "retreat" his complaint (it's "retract", you doofus).   How hassle free does that sound?   They acknowledge owing the refund, but won't actually hand it over without conditions.   Real honest.

  The funny thing is that it doesn't really matter what the OP says at this point.   When they were repeatedly posting their flippant responses, they should have noticed that they were agreeing that none of these posts would ever be deleted.    That means any prospective customer can see this entire thread and the way they handle customer issues.    I think that will tell them everything they need to know about how this company is run.

   Nice move, genius!

As silly as it sounds, I'd have an attorney involved at this point.  First, they want you to give your credit card information AGAIN.  Then, instead of actually offering you a "hassle free" refund or whatever was promised, they tell you, "No, you retract this report then we will release your money"  No, no I think not.  At this point, they have stolen money from you.  I'd seek an attorney immediately and charge the fees back to exoticfruits.  Please keep us updated, this is ridiculous and as a consumer makes me furious that a company would think that they can get away with this.

Every legitimate company I have done business with, the refund would be processed through the same account that the original payment was made from.  You should already have all the information needed to process the refund.

And thanks to the OP for posting this.  Companies like this are exactly why this site was set up.

I'd tell you to dispute the charge with your bank, but 8 months is probably too late.  Scam companies don't usually respond as they are too busy ripping off the next guy in line.  You may have to take him to small claims court or something like that at this point.

Good luck.  I hope you get your money back.

As promised, I attempted to contact the company today to hopefully receive a refund for a subscription which was placed 8 months ago, and for which I have been attempting to get a refund for the last four months.

I called during their posted business hours (numerous times), and once again no answer.  Indeed, they now have an answering machine which states that the company does not respond to emails, even though they have an email address and "contact us" link on the site.  This company is fraudulent, they lie, and they will increase the suffering by making it an unforgettable headache to even attempt to get a refund.

So that we are clear, BUYEXOTICFRUITS.COM and DISCOUNTSWAREHOUSE.COM are both run by the same people, Nerry Pathak.  It is likely that they have so many sites selling the same things because people become educated about the fraudulent business practices of one, so they create a new site.

An answer to my complaint has not been cleared by this company.  I requested a refund several weeks ago, and have not yet received reimbursement.  The amount owed is $166.66.  The price of the subscription was $250 for 6 months, so each shipment is $41.66.  Though the company should be giving a full refund, as it has taken 4 months, countless calls, numerous emails, and a lot of wasted time to get a "hassle" and "delay" free refund.  

Nonetheless, if and when a refund is given, then I will consider retracting the complaint.

I will contact the company tomorrow, and update rip off report as to the outcome.

You state that you need an Order # in order to process the return.  The Order # is 859.  

You were given this order # via every email sent to your company, in an attempt to seek a refund, since February 2012.  Indeed, the "owner" of the company has known the order number, as he was copied on a number of the emails.  He was specifically told that a refund was requested, and has chosen to ignore these requests.

It is false to assert that "If you purchased a prepaid fruit membership, you'll receive a prompt refund for any un-shipped merchandise. No hassles and no delays."  Not only have I been requesting a refund for over three months, on a fruit subscription which was placed 8 months ago, but your failure to issue a refund has been anything but "prompt" and without "hassle."  Indeed, even today not a penny has been returned.

Again, I challenge any potential customer of this company, or DiscountsWarehouse.com (another website run by this company), to try to call the customer service numbers on the website prior to ordering, and to read the language of the website.  You will undoubtedly find that this company is unreliable.  And that you will have as much trouble as me in seeking any refund.
