Despite the friendly sounding name, and wishing everyone a "blessed" day, they couldn't care less about their customers.

I requested to make a cash deposit (due to recent credit card theft) for a long distance move, and was refused. I was given a $700 estimate until I filled-out an extensive item inventory online, then was told that the estimate was now $1,175. I requested a morning pick-up and was approved for it, but was informed the night before that the movers would arrive "sometime between noon and 2." After 2 I called and was told, "it might be another hour or two." After 2 more hours I was told that they would not be able to show up at all, but agreed to come the next morning.

The movers arrived the next day (in a rented Budget truck) and examined my belongings that were housed in a storage unit. I was told that the weight and cubic footage exceded what the estimate allowed for. In addition, I was told that all glass would have to be crated, and all furnitur RE-wrapped (not to mention the $100 "elevator fee"), and that it would amount to about DOUBLE the $1,175 estimate. Also, the driver was kind enough to reveal that despite my understanding, once the truck is loaded it is NOT driven directly to my destination, but rather unloaded into a warehouse until some unknown future date.

The company was not apologetic about having stranded me the day before, claimed that I had signed-off on their policies, refused to offer me any kind of discount, and disputed my claim that they added significant "hidden fees" at the last moment. It is clear that they have no regard for their clients, and feel as though they have us "over a barrel;" i.e. we are helpless and stranded, and don't have any other options but to fall for their manipulation and extortion.

I dismissed the movers, as I would rather suffer from a botched move (and several wasted hours, and the inconvenience of finding another company) than continue to be abused and insulted.

FMCSA Initiates Proceeding to Suspend Operating Authority

AUTHOR: Tom and donna - (U.S.A.)

FMCSA Initiates Proceeding to Suspend Operating Authority of California Commercial Motor Carrier Peace of Mind Relocation, Inc. Following Determination that Company Held Hostage Household Goods

WASHINGTON, DC - The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has initiated a proceeding to suspend Peace of Mind Relocation, Inc.'s operating authority registration following an agency Final Order issued November 30, 2012 which determined that Peace of Mind Relocation, Inc. held hostage household goods of individual shippers in violation of federal statutes and regulations.

FMCSA's final agency order determined that Peace of Mind Relocation, Inc.'s refusal to give up possession of the shippers' household goods constituted a knowing and willful failure to give up possession of the household goods in violation of its estimate and contract after the shippers tendered payment.

"Consumers should not have to fear the loss of their property at the hands of non-compliant household goods movers," said U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. "Companies that violate federal regulations and take advantage of consumers will be held accountable and they will face serious legal and financial consequences."

FMCSA encourages consumers to file any complaints involving household goods or other commercial motor carriers through FMCSA's nationwide complaint hotline at 1-888-368-7238 (1-888-DOT-SAFT) and to visit the National Consumer Complaints Database at http://nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov.

"Ensuring that consumers can access safe, reputable household goods movers is a priority," said FMCSA Administrator Anne S. Ferro. "We will continue to use every resource at our disposal to protect consumers."

The agency also encourages consumers planning an interstate move to visit the federal government's "Protect Your Move" web site at http://www.protectyourmove.gov, which provides information on shippers' rights and responsibilities and information on how to research USDOT registered household goods carriers.

PROOF PEACE OF MIND RELOCATION OWNER IS LYING

AUTHOR: here to help - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, December 06, 2012

THIS POSTING IS DIRECTED TO THE OWNER OF PEACE OF MIND RELOCATION,

YOU HAVE CALLED ME A LIAR WHEN IN FACT IT APPEARS THAT YOU ARE THE ONE LYING.

I STATED IN MY POSTING THAT YOUR COMPANY HAS AN F RATING WITH THE SANTA BARBARA BBB.  IF THIS IS NOT TRUE THEN PLEASE EXPLAIN THE PHOTO I HAVE ATTACHED TO THIS POSTING WHICH CLEARLY STATES THIS FACT AND THE FULL DETAIL CAN BE VEIWED BY USING THE FOLLOWING LINK.  http://www.santabarbara.bbb.org/business-reviews/Moving-and-Storage-Companies/Peace-of-Mind-Relocation-in-Oxnard-CA-92009878

I ALSO STATED THAT YOU FORMERLY CALLED YOURSELF THE C RATED BIG SAM TRANSPORTATION.  IF THIS IS NOT TRUE THEN PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY KERAN SADAFI IS LISTED AS THE AGENT FOR SERVICE OF PROCESS ON THE BUSINESS ENTITY DETAIL FOR BOTH COMPANIES.  I HAVE ATTACHED COPIES OF BOTH, WHICH CAN BE VIEWED BY ALL BY VISITING THE CALIFORNIA SECRETARY OF STATES WEBSITE.   KERAN SADAFI IS ALSO LISTED AS THE PRESIDENT OF BOTH COMPANIES.

COULD YOU ALSO EXPLAIN WHY YOU ARE LISTED WITH THE HOUSTON BBB IN THE FIRST PLACE?  THE ADDRESS GIVEN TO YOU IN THE LISTING IS, 5824 Waltrip Street  Houston, TX 77087 WHICH ALSO BELONGS TO ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY CALLED AMERICAN KNIGHTS MOVING AND STORAGE.  THEY HAVE A "NO RATING" AND APPEAR TO BE HAVING THEIR OWN PROBLEM KEEPING THEIR CUSTOMERS HAPPY.

HOW DO YOU EXPECT PEOPLE TO BELIEVE WHEN YOU SAY THAT THE PERFECT REVIEWS ABOUT YOU ON THE WEB ARE GENUINE,  WHEN YOU ADMIT THAT YOU PAY FOR THEM,  AND YOU CLEARLY ARE NOT BEING TRUTHFUL IN YOUR PREVIOUS POSTING IN WHICH YOU SAY I AM LYING?

I WOULD CONTEND THAT "THE JECKEL AND HYDE MOVING COMPANY" WOULD BE A BETTER NAME FOR YOUR COMPANY SINCE IT SEEMS THAT FOR EVERY PERFECT REVIEW YOU HAVE PAID FOR, THEIR IS A CORRESPONDING HORRIBLE REVIEW IN WHICH THE CUSTOMER CLAIMS THAT YOU DOUBLED THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE, LOST, DAMAGED AND HELD HOSTAGE THEIR FURNISHINGS, AND THAT YOUR EMPLOYEES WERE RUDE AND ABUSIVE, JUST TO NAME THE MOST COMMON COMPLAINTS.                      FOR THOSE OF YOU READING THIS, FOLLOW THIS LINK IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE HORROR STORIES FOR YOURSELF  http://www.yellowpages.com/nationwide/mip/peace-of-mind-relocation-456070740?lid=456070740

TO THOSE OF YOU OUT THERE READING THIS POSTING,  TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE WORLD WIDE WEB, WHERE IF YOU DIG DEEP ENOUGH YOU CAN FIND THE TRUTH.  THANKS TO GOOGLE,  ABUSIVE COMPANIES WILL BE EXPOSED FOR WHAT THEY ARE.  IF YOU HAVE BEEN WRONGED,  TELL YOUR STORY, SO THAT OTHERS CAN BE SPARED.

REMOVE

AUTHOR: PEACE OF MIND RELOCATION - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, December 03, 2012

This person is not a customer of us. Nothing he said was true.

If someone is looking for our rating with BBB they can easily find it. Big Sam is not a part of peace of mind in any way!
Our customers do take the time and write good reviews about their experience with our company.

Every once in a while we send an email to our customers asking them to fill up a review about their moving experience with our company. We offer $15 reimbursement for their time. IF A CUSTOMER HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH US HE WILL NEVER PUT A GOOD REVIEW JUST TO EARN $15! All reviews are written by real customers.

THE PERSON WHO WROTE THIS MESSAGE IS SOMEONE FROM A DIFFERENT MOVING COMPANY WHO IS TRYING TO RUIN OTHER PEOPLES BUSINESS PROBABLY BECAUSE HE IS NOT A VERY SUCCESSFUL ONE HIMSELF.

F RATING WITH THE BBB

AUTHOR: here to help - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, November 29, 2012

This company has an F rating with the BBB.  The problem is that they have cleverly registered their company in Houston Texas as well and have been given an A rating.
When you google "peace of mind relocation BBB" the A rating in Houston comes up and the F rating in Santa Barbra is no where to be found.  The company is located in Los Angeles.  The following is the link to the F rating.

   http://www.santabarbara.bbb.org/business-reviews/Moving-and-Storage-Companies/Peace-of-Mind-Relocation-in-Oxnard-CA-92009878

The A rating with Houston BBB link is as follows: http://www.bbb.org/houston/business-reviews/movers/peace-of-mind-relocation-in-hosuton-tx-90017373

The owners of this company have also operated as Big Sam Transportation which has a C rating with the BBB.   The link is : http://www.la.bbb.org/business-reviews/Moving-and-Storage-Companies/Big-Sam-Transportation-Inc-in-Van-Nuys-CA-100069907

I would also just like to make this point.  How many of you go on the internet and write a good review for a company, especially a moving company.  Most people expect good service, and when you get it you don't feel the need to write reviews on the net.    It is only when you have a bad experience that most people are compelled to take the time to get on the internet and write a review, so that you can warn others, that they won't be screwed like you were.  That being said I would suggest that most good reviews written on the net are composed by the business themselves trying to counter the damage done by the bad reviews.  Take them with a grain of salt.  Just sayin......

Dont say you weren't warned.

HUNDREDS OF SATISFIED CUSTOMERS

AUTHOR: PEACE OF MIND RELOCATION - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, March 24, 2011

We have hundreds of satisfied customers! We update our website monthly with references letters we get from our customers! Unfortunately, some customers won't be satisfied no matter what we offer them. This customer does not appreciate the honesty of our company.

We do not guarantee arrival time. Dispatch is working on the schedule a day before the move, and then calls the customers to give the arrival time. If the 1st job of the day overlaps the 2nd job, we have an obligation to the 1st customer to finish before heading to the second customer. It was out of our control.

Customer was informed the weight of his belongings will be more than we estimated since he has more items that were not listed. We are required by the DOT to inform the customer prior to loading the truck if the weight or cu-ft are more than estimated. Also he was informed of the crate charge prior to loading the truck. We are doing our job the way we should do it by the DOT.

Nothing was hidden from the customer. Customer has signed an order for service form and initialed all parts of the form, including the part about packing supplies: PACKING: Packing supplies are not included in the price above. All breakable items such as mirrors, glass top tables, TV's etc...must be packed. Free use of furniture pads. Extra charge for use of boxes, mattress covers, shrink-wrap, crates, paper pads etc...

Customer talked to Kelly, the manager, on the day of the move and was offered a discount by her for the inconvenience the customer had the day before but customer refused our services. We are giving our customers the truth only.

Yes, the items were supposed to be unloaded in our warehouse and shipped with a different truck.
Every moving company works with this method (unless the move has a large amount of pounds that needs special handling).
