Bernard Haldane And Associates A scam attempt so obvious ripoff business from hell Montral Quebec

This how it all started : received an email inviting me to fill up a free web based career evaluation. Two days after I get a phone call and am invited to go to a meeting. The meeting takes place in this "classy" downtown Montreal office.

I only wait a few minutes before Mrs Bukowsky invites me to her office. Her first words are "I interview as many as 15 people a week and I only keep a couple for the second interview", this makes me feel uneasy, her tone of voice is a bit aggressive.

Then a few sentences later she says "we don't see you as a person but as a product, we will market you like a product", this made me feel more in the position of the guy who is confronted to a bad salesman trying to sell him obvious crap.

I started to sit more comfortably and ask questions:

"What's your fee?", answer: "there is no fixed fee, it's individualy calculated", I could not manage to get a number...

"How long does it take, before I get a job?", answer: "In your case you will not find a job right away, maybe four to six months",

"when do I start paying the fee?", answer: "right away".

She then became more aggressive, saying she needed a commitment on my part, and picked up her agenda trying to fix a date for the second meeting, says

"You should bring your girlfriend to the second meeting, when is she free,..." and so on.

This was my confirmation the whole thing was a cheap scam, no one schedules a second meeting right away, especially after saying she only selects a few people out of, oh how many she interviews.

You don't do that, you let the person go and you send her/him a mail, call up an hour after. This made me suspicious enough to check on the web. After I found out all the reports on this website I just had to write mine in.

This all took place yesterday, february 18, 2003, in Montreal. Please watch out.
