I bought a Goodyear tire for my son's Honda civic and the tire had a tear on the side of it ,so when i took it back to the dealer he refused ro exchange it because i did not buy road hazard insurance , but the tire is defective and i contacted Goodyear corporate office and they refused to help me and were very rude to me . They wanted me to take the tire to another dealer to check it but i don't have the tire anymore because i bought a new one for 160 dollars. i complained to the better business bureau and still no positive response from the company .
My advise to you is to stay away from Goodyear tires because they are bad quality and very bad and poor customer service and as far as the warranty ,they will not honor it

Tire side wall failures are almost 100% driver abuse, The ones that are not are very easy for a knowlegable person to spot.
Abuse voids warranty
Not having the tire available for inspection is suspicious.
And finally Goodyear might have been more reasonable if you had even tried to follow the proper warranty procedure. Its their warranty and they will administer it as they wish within the Law, and Legally they haven't stepped a toe out of the published procedure and are far far away from breaking the Law

Why didn't you complain about the tear at the time of purchase?
