I went to old navy knowing they had a sale of 30-75% off of newborn apparell I went into the store pick out the things I wanted to buy thinking they were on sale since the advertisements by the clothing read I.E. 75% off marked price. I went up to pay and I estimated the total to be at least around 20.00 dollars but when I went up the cashier said the total was 45 dollars and some change I knew that it couldnt possibly be that much with the guranteed savings signs that i had seen.

Being pregnant I didnt want to get worked up about the cost so I just told her to take out some of the items that I wouldnt have bought if they hadnt been on sale. Most of these empolyees at this store act like the customers are not important and spend their time focusing on socializing with each other empolyees. I will never shop at the old navy store again and will recommend the same to many of my friends and relatives who shop there often.

I have worked for Old Navy no less then 3 years. I love the company I work for. We don't blame the customers, we simply point out the complete truth. Messy customers is why you never see an Old Navy store in perfect condition. There are only so many employees who can do so many things at one time. Trailing behind you and refolding every piece of clothing that customers so ignorantly and disrespectfully toss around is not something we can waste time doing. We have many commitments and jobs to do, with so little time to complete them. Customers who "forget" where things go, or who simply don't care, shove unwanted items in nearby places which 9 times out of 10 is the clearance section. We work hard to keep the full price and marked down items seperated but when people constantly mix them together, it's easy to see that we are fighting a lost cause. Clearly it isnt our fault if you find a full priced item tossed into clearance. If you have a question about a price, ask an employee to check it for you BEFORE you check out. We are more then happy to check prices for you because it saves us from people at the register jumping the gun to blame the wrong price on us. If you want a personal shopper or an over the top shopping experience, then get yourself out of Old Navy and be more realistic. Go to Nordstrom or Lord & Taylor. I mean seriously, get real. When some of our merchandise sells for as low as 10 cents, stop expecting a top notch experience. Stop complaining about the stupidest freaking things that are almost always the customers fault. You do not see what goes on behind the scenes. This comment really pissed me off because its exactly what an ignorant customer would say. Customers who have nothing else to do but complain or trash the store simply have never worked a retail job in there life. Someone who has worked in retail would not walk into a store and mess things up, or cause a scene. What if it was your son or daughter in our position? Exactly. Would you still be disgusted when they complain about customers? Hell no you wouldn't. You would see eye to eye with them and realize that "Wow, the nerve of some people is just outrageous. Why are these customers such disrespectful slobs?" Until your son or daughter gets their first retail job, or you get one of your own, STOP complaining about the employees who work really hard to try and keep customers happy. We are also the sons and daughters of others. You wouldnt like someone complaining about your child, so stop complaining about theirs. We like what we do because your right, if we didn't, we wouldn't be there. People act like the employees are there to screw them over, like were the enemies. We are there to help you when you need it but honestly, we could care less. We just want you in and out of the store as quickly and friendly as possible so we can get back to finishing up our work. When something is wrong in the store, be smart and do not blame it on the first employee you encounter because I bet you its not their fault. Do something else with your time. The next time you walk into a retail store, I hope you put your ignorance to the side and get a sense of reality. We are all people, we are all human, so please act like one. Think twice before blaming an employee because that will be your child one day. 3 years in retail has made me completely lose my faith in the human race.

Hi, I am sorry about your bad experience at Old Navy. But alot of times what happens is it says "50% off" and under neath that it says , price already marked or something and alot of times people think its the clearance price which is 50% off so if a pair of pants are $20 and they are marked with a orange sticker for $10, that would be the sale price,. not 50% of that. sorry for your for your experience. hope this helps.

I have been with the company for 2 1/2 years, and we are a pretty honest company

I totally agree that Old Navy advsertises specials and you actually have to work for the discount or end up paying full price. The fact that an employee can blame a "messy" customer goes to show what type of employees these are. Yes there are signs, but I have yet to walk in to an Old Navy Store that is somewhat neat or in a decent condition that signs would actually work.

I am also really disgusted at the fact that as a consumer I am being asked to give an employee a break or cut them some slack, when I did not put you there. As an employee you choose to be there and if you cant handle it get out of that line of business or stop complaining. Employees get paid to be there and as a consumer I contribute to their paycheck. So yes you are there being a personal shopper, customer service etc., why because they are being paid to do so.

Read the sign.

Honestly, I have been working for the company for years now. First off, its a great company. Secondly, We don't even make signs that say 75% off marked price. We DO have a sign that says take an extra 50% off. You are mistaken. Not to mention, all the signs have a priced as marked disclaimer or select styles only on the bottom. Not to mention, there are such a thing as messy customers. It's a possibility some of the stuff you grabbed is regular price. And in regards to signage, we simply dont have the space to seperate every single style.

We just assume you know what the difference is, and that the sign, next to the item, with a decent discription, is enough. And please dont rag on the employees. I must admit, some of them shouldnt be there. But the one's that do would like to go through one day without dealing with an angry person such as yourself. Cut us some slack. We are not here to give you shirts for 5 cents, nor be your maid. And the reason why we socialize is because that is the only decent part of our job, besides being your personal shopper of course. =]

Customers like these always frustrate me.

The signs at old navy never say '50% off marked price' or anything of that sort. The orange sticker on the price tag is the final price because that's on clearance, so there is no additional percent off. On the signs, although it says it small, it says what specific items are on sale. Those are the items that you'll receive a discount on. If the register doesn't give you the discount then you can ask someone to look at the sign and they'll be more than happy to overwrite the price for you; trust me, this happens all the time at my Old Navy. Next time just try to be a bit more careful. Thank you.

READ THE SIGN

I have worked at old navy for three years. I'll be the first to admit that old navy has problems and has some of the worst employees. BUt customers have to understand that people (customers and employees) put clothes back into the wrong spot. Which could lead to someone mistaking a sign for that item. Each item that is on sale has a sign by it. And the sign has the name of the clothing that is on sale. Our clearance signs say 30% off, 50% off, or 75% off in red letters. But if you take time to looka t the sign it says PRICE AS MARKED. please read the sign before complaining. ANd be nice about it and the employee might work with you. if you are rude to us...some employees won't be nice back.
