Pep Boys Clueless and careless San Bernardino California

STAY AWAY!!! Your better off setting your car on fire and buying a new one than taking it here. A couple weeks ago my in laws brought their car in to get the master cylinder replaced. After getting it back they were driving it around and the breaks went out. Luckily they didn't hit anything and brought it back into the shop on Sunday. The mechanics on duty didn't know how to fix it and apparently the only person who supposedly knows what they are doing is off Sunday and Monday. Why even have the shop open if they can't do anything more than an oil change??

So after getting a rental car so they can get work they get their car back late Tuesday and it is fixed according to them. No reimbursement for the rental car due to their poor work. Just a coupon for some money off their next purchase. What a joke. Fast forward 6 days to today when my mother in law is driving down Mill st to pick up her husband from work. The brakes go out again and she has to swerve into a restaurant parking lot to avoid hitting cars stopped at the light in front of her. She ran over a few parking curbs and barely avoided hitting a guy walking to the door and stopped a few feet short of hitting the building. Now the car has no brakes, two bent rims, two blown out front tires and whatever damage happened to the transmission when she threw it in park to try and stop it.

She calls up Pep Boys and the first thing they say is its a $50 fee to tow it. She argues and they say to talk it over with the manager. We leave the car there because they are on the way to get it and go to the shop. We go inside and a guy named Angel is at the counter. As soon as he sees them he says oh the brakes again? They tell him what happened and he really didn't seem sorry or want to acknowledge any fault. So I ask him what the deal is and why are the brakes going out after they get done working on it and say everything is good? All he says is well they worked when the car left. There is no way something can be blowing out every few days and if there is thats the whole reason the car is there in the first place. FIX THE PROBLEM. These guys are idiots and have no clue what they are doing. They will half a*s the most important part of a car and send you on your way. Angel was very rude and pretended not to hear me after I asked him questions he didn't feel like answering. Luckily nobody was killed or majorly injured in the accident but judging from their response they wouldn't care anyways. The issue isn't resolved yet but I am expecting nothing less than more excuses and poor work.

Take your car anywhere else. It couldn't possibly be any worse than this place. They have no clue what they are doing and don't care what their incompetence causes after you leave the shop. And if something bad does happen don't bother asking Angel to explain himself. He doesn't seem to feel like it most of the time.
