The company this person is talking about started doing business in 2003 and was only in business for about 3 years. They kept changing their name and website so people would not catch on to their scam. They were located near San Diego California in Oceanside and also used an address in Carlsbad. There is a real company named Star Search Casting, Inc. ( StarSearchCasting.com ) that has been in business since 1998 and is a member of the Better Business Bureau. You can see their BBB report here: bbbonline.org/cks.asp?id=1050419191358

Many people still confuse the scam which operated out of Oceanside California with the real Star Search Casting located in Ventura California because they used the same name.

Fortunately, the scam company is no longer around but their bad reputation continues to hurt a legitimate company.

In regard to the complaint by Kendra, this complaint should not be addressed to Star Search Casting, rather it should be addressed to the company who actually charged her credit card for her membership to the Star Search Casting website.

This is a marketing company called PrimeTime Entertainment - (http://PrimeTimeCasting.com) and ShowTime Entertainment (http://ShowTimeCasting.com). This is whom he originally spoke to when she first called.

Star Search Casting does not have any relationship with Impact Legal but PrimeTime Entertainment did at one time. If PrimeTime Entertainment enrolled you for a Impact Legal membership then you can cancel it at anytime by calling Impact Legal directly at: 866-856-3902. Impact Legal maintains voice recordings of all enrollments through PrimeTime Entertainment. If you were enrolled without your concent then they will be able to hear that in the recording of your original call.

In the past, PrimeTime Entertainment sold memberships to Star Search Casting's online talent database without compensating Star Search when they did not yet have their own website. They even obtained a merchant credit card account (without Star Search Casting's permission or authorization) in our company's name so the charge on the customer's account would show the merchant as Star Search Casting, even though it was not Star Search Casting who actually charged the customer. Star Search Casting does not even have any customer billing or credit card information for Kendra or any of the other members who were placed on our website by PrimeTime Entertainment. Kendra is a customer of PrimeTime Entertainment and Impact Legal, not Star Search Casting, so she must contact them directly to get things resolved.
