I went to the Circuit City in Bloomington to take advantage of the deal that if the consumer signs up for three years of internet, they consequently get $400 towards any purchase. I was attracted to this deal because I use the internet constantly to do Graduate level research concerning government agencies. I purchased a stereo and some other products.

However, within thirty days I was not satisfied with the quality of the stereo or the internet service. I receive a free service through the university I attend, and the service I recieved through Circuit City was not anymore beneficial than the free service. Thereafter I decided to pay the $50 cancelation fee for the internet service provider. When I did this, Circuit City said that I was stuck with the $309 credit (the amount of the stereo minus the costs of various cd's and movies I did keep)and they would charge my credit card for this. I did not agree with this however I was told by the operations manager at the Rockford location that the credit was good for 2 years, and I figured I would buy something within two years. This all happened on Labor Day weekend and thirty days after.

A little over three months went by. I was contemplating the idea of getting a cell phone. I decided that since I had a credit at Circuit City, I would go there to make my purchase rather than going elsewhere. However, when I went to make my purchase with store credit card I was told by the same operations manager at the Rockford store as well as their so-called "Customer Service" line that it was expired and there was nothing they could do about it.

They supposedly do not have records on this or anything. So, ultimately I was screwed out of over $300! Never again will I do business with Circuit City!

Well, I saw that ad to on Labor Day, May I ask you what did you do with the 400.00 they gave you towards your purchase, when you canceled your internet service, I know you paid them 50.00 cancellation fee, but if you look more into the fine print, it says if you agree for the internet, and decided you don't want it no more, you have to pay the 400.00 to the store or internet service, Do you know that the store and the internet service
lose money, every time someone doesn't agree to there, services, think about it.
