On June 11, 2002 my mother died. All payments were made on her trailer, on time until the family could decide what we would do about either selling it or keeping it.

On August 11, 2002, two months after her death my children and I entered into the trailer planning to dust and then go to the lake for some fishing. While we were at the lake, we assumed all was well, this was a beautiful Sunday outing, we suspected nothing wrong. Upon returning to the trailer, we noticed that not even a used bar of soap was left in my mother's home. Upon seeking out the next door neighbor and making inquiries, she reported that a Budget moving truck had pulled into the driveway and hauled everything away!!! She assumed that it was us because she had seen us drive up and then leave. How devastating this whole situation has been for me and my family.

I filed a police report with Clayton County but they advised me that this was a civil suit. After going through the entire trailer park searching for the truck or possibly my mother's furnishings, to no avail. I contacted the Conseco office first thing Monday morning and spoke with Christina Ali who apologized over and over and asked me what would settle the whole situation. No explanation was given for the intrusion upon my mother's belongings, there was not eviction notice, no foreclosure notice, nothing!!! I explained that I wanted all of my mother's things placed back into the trailer.

I sought an attorney who admitted he had no idea on how to handle the case but was interested in doing so. After a few letters I heard nothing more from him. I was contacted by a Russell Baquir who offered a financial settlement and I refered him to the attorney and again I heard nothing more. I have tried for years to get someone to handle this case for me and each attorney that I have contacted states that they have real estate dealings with Conseco and it would not be in their best interest.

I am and have been deeply depressed by this unlawful action of this finance company. I had just buried my mother and then they took every bit of her away from me and my siblings, by disposing of what we considered the only things that kept us close to her, if even for a little while. I have all of the necessary papers showing that her mortgage, lot fees, taxes, etc. were not in any way delinquent. If anyone knows of an attorney who is willing to tackle this case, please, please contact me as soon as possible, I would really appreciate some sort of closure to this hurt and emptiness that I feel in my soul.
