===================== NOW TO THE ORIGIONAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED
Credit Solutions Of America (CSA) GOT ME SUED ADDISON Texas
About a year or more ago, around October or November 2005, I wanted to take care of some of my debts that I could no longer afford to pay and were near charging off. I came across Credit Solutions of America (CSA) and looked into the company.
I called and they made all of the promises that it would be "much better" for me to enroll in their program and they would stop the harrassing calls and let my creditors know that I was going to settle on the accounts after I got enough payed into the "savings" account they would create for me.
I signed all of the documentation, including a power of attorney agreement, and sent them most of my bills and collection letters. After I asked around and read more about the company's history, I found about about their bad history. Thankfully, or so I thought, I never sent them a dime. I thought I didn't have anything to worry about, since I never paid them any money.
A few months later, I began receiving a statement from one of my credit card companies and the letter was addressed to myself and also included "C/O CSA" at the end of my name, which I assumed that CSA contacted them to add their name to the account. Regrettably, I didn't take the time to call CSA and demand that they stop. They didn't inform me that they had sent this creditor a "Cease and Desist" order.
I called CSA to try and terminate my agreement with them, but they would do nothing but verbally acknowledge, and would not send me any sort of documentation that our contract was terminated. I let the issue die, again assuming that they wouldn't do any "real" work without getting paid first (I mean who would do work without getting paid, right?)
Well, around November of the past year (2006) I was served papers from an attorney representing the creditor I mentioned above that addressed my statements to myself and CSA. I immediately spoke to the lawyer's office to work out something and I asked why things had to come to this and why didn't they attempt to contact me to work something out before suing me? The said they couldn't because the creditor received a "Cease and Desist" which I, in no way, shape, or form, sent to them.
So to make a long story short, CSA got me sued, plain and simple.
