I felt inspired to write my complaint about this bank who has a major problem with communication in their office. I had an auto loan with North American Auto for a few months until my loan was sold to Crescent Bank and Trust. Payments were made on time to North American. My loan was sold in November and around the time my first payment to Crescent Bank and Trust was due, I was involed in a horrible auto accident where my car was side-swipped on 1-10 East, hit the guard rail on the driver's side and flipped over twice! Needless to say the car was deemed a total loss by my insurance company and involved a hospital stay. My insurance company moved fast with the claim. The accident was on a sunday and on monday they did an estimate on the car and declared it a total loss. They asked for the lienholder's info, which was now Crescent Bank and I gave them all the information. The insurance company informed me that they received the payoff balance from Crescent Bank and all I needed to do was sign over the rights to the car and the check would be issued to them on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I received a call from Crescent Bank stating that they did not receive a payment for the month of December (the payment was due on that Monday) and that the car would be repo'd if I did not make a payment asap. I informed this woman that if you want the car, come get it and its pieces off the interstate! She asked where the car was and I hung up. Mind you I was just in an accident where I almost died and I was not in a pleasant mood. She called me back again and I did not answer. After the 10th call (these people are persistent), I answered and informed her that my insurance company (Progressive) spoke with your company yesterday and issued a check paying off the full balance of the car. She said that she was not informed of this and proceeded to ask for my claim adjuster's name and phone number. I complied and she said that she would get back with me because she found it odd that I was in an accident around the time my payment was due. I asked if what was she implying. She just repeated herself. I said you either think I'm lying or that I purposely wrecked my sole means of transportation to avoid paying a measly $362? I immediately asked to speak with someone who had better knowledge of their job, she proceeded to argue with me. I have no idea how she got her job, but she was extremely unprofessional.

2 days later, I received a call from this same woman asking for my payment. I asked if she received the check yet because I had a copy of it, she again pretended as if she did not know of the accident. I asked to speak with a manager again and I was transferred to a male who asked me to fax over a copy of the check. I faxed the insurance check along with the loss report from the insurance company. After all this, I received another call a week later. Mind you the whole car was paid off (my insurance paid off the 10 day final balance which included december's payment) and nothing was owed by me. A gentleman told me that this is affecting my credit because I am choosing to ignore them. I told him that you have got to be kidding me. I said that I no longer have the car, the insurance company has legal rights to it and I no longer have anything connecting me with this company. He informed me that they still have not received the check and that the insurance company probably put it in the mail. I said I doubt they put a 14,000 check in the mail like that and if they did, your office should have it by now even after I provided proof to you all. He said they would note it on my file. They contiuned to call me on Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas still looking for the insurance check. Every time they called, I simply gave them my adjuster's name, phone number and claim number. They contacted me from an 1-800 number on Jan 2 and left a message saying to call Crescent Bank at their number. I thought it was them telling me that they received the check and that they were sorry to keep worrying me. I called back and she asked my name, which I told her. She asked if I was making a payment!!!! I hung up on her because they were getting to me. They proceeded to call my references who were wondering what they were talking about. They all informed the woman that I was in an accident and no longer had the car. She called my boyfriend who was with me at the time when they called and he said that he didn't understand how much lack of communication they had. Someone has received the check by now and he concluded that my name was on some list and that's why they continued to call. And to top it all off, I received a credit alert saying I had negative info on my credit report, and to find out it was none other than Crescent Bank and trust saying that I was 30 days late on my payment! After all of this, I am glad that I no longer have that car because if I had to deal with them on a monthly basis, I would have went crazy. I'm glad I googled them and came across this site because it is sad to see how stupid this company is.

After receiving another call from Crescent bank saying I was about to be 90 days late and that they put in for my car to be repo'd! I laughed at them out of frustration. I asked if it was notated that the was was totaled and that the insurance company picked up the car last week. They said they had no knowledge of it. She gave me the name of a woman, Adrie, who was handling my account and they told me to call her at 10am and let her know. I called Progressive and spoke with my claim adjuster who informed me that she spoke with several people about obtaining the guarantee of title form in order to send them the check. She informed me that she spoke with them on Christmas Eve wondering about the status of the title. Progressive did not get the title until the 31st of December, a week after they asked for it from Crescent Bank. It was just basic lack of communication on the bank's part because the files go through too many people's hands. I finally spoke with Adrie, she said all is clear! Finally.
