It broke my heart

We had to follow a script that began "we recieved your entry into our contest to win a free rascal"-then we would go into our pitch. We would tell them how wonderful our product is, then we would ask personal health questions-what are you using to ambulate, what health condition do you suffer from, etc, which I though was terrible. I was surprised that anyone would even tell me. They didn't know me. Then we would ask if they owned their home and what their monthly income was-It had to excede $2,000 per month for them to qualify for financing. Again, most of these people are on SSI. One poor lady got so excited and then I had to tell her she didn't qualify. She started crying on the phone and I felt so guilty. This is cruel.
I also got the feeling as I kept seeing the same names in the queue who had said they weren't interested that we were really hounding them. I started putting people on the do not call list so we would stop harassing them. I don't understand how this company stays in business. I don't know how they can sleep at night. Please be warned that they are preying on helpless people who have enough grief in their lives. We were calling people who didn't even need a rascal. I wonder where they got their names from. I couldn't take the heartbreak and dishonesty.
I now work for a home care company who really cares about their clients. Don't enter the drawing for a free scooter-the odds are the same as winning the lottery. Oh, and medicare will not pay either. Not for an indoor scooter-only a powerchair, and you have to practically be paralyzed. Do not patronize this company!
