This rental car company was recommended to me by my insurance company after someone hit my car and it needed repairs. I decided to use a body shop near the collision reporting centre, which happens to be in a more dangerous part of town.
Their slogan is "we'll pick you up", so I made an appointment to have them pick me up at the repair shop. I asked for 7am so I could be on time for work, but they insisted they wouldn't pick me up until 7:30, which I reluctantly agreed to do. This is because they do not give a crap about my schedule and do not understand that some people have a job where being on time is actually important.
I waited from 7:20 until 7:50 at which point I had to assume they were standing me up and left for work. Their excuse for standing me up was that I hadn't called them once there to tell them I was ready to be picked up. I would have thought that making the appointment the day before to be picked up at that time would have been enough, but apparently not. I also would have thought that they would have told me they needed me to call them upon arrival when I made the appointment, but apparently that's not information I needed to know until it already screwed me over. Never mind the fact that they blamed me for not calling an office that I did call and where no one picked up the phone because they opened at the same time they scheduled for my pick-up.
Despite this I rescheduled to have them pick me up on the following day at 11:45a.m. I called them before I even left work at 11: 30 and told them I was already there to try to ensure they would actually be on time and they told me they were sending someone then. I arrived at the body shop at 11:40 and no one was there. The mechanic working with me called their office for me at 11:50 and he was told that someone was on the way (their location is about a 5 minute drive from the body shop). My mechanic called their office again at 12:00 and 12:10 and no one answered the phone. At 12:15 I left in frustration to go back to work for a second time in two days. My mechanic then called me at 12:45 to tell me the guy had just shown up and was upset that I had left.
To be fair, the company's slogan "we'll pick you up" was 50% correct, it just doesn't explain that they will be over an hour late and lie to you about how long it will be before they get there. Hopefully others considering using this company see someone who has had a similar experience and stay away from this horrible location. I wouldn't trust a rental car company that lies to its customers and can't tell time to adequately repair its vehicles either.
