On a company account I rented a Chevy Impala in april 2011. There was some dings on the trunklid when I rented it. However when I returned the car they claimed the damage was caused by a hailstorm that happened in FAyetteville while I had the car. The problem was that I was not in Fayetteville with the car when the storm occurred. I was in Oklahoma and there was no storm. ENterprise claimed there were dings on the trunk and hood and paint chipping off of the rocker panels. THis was all done by previous renters and not while I had the car.

I filed a claim with my insurance company Geico and after 6 months of gneotiating the claim was settled in full for 1036.36. During that time I got an estimate from their body shop Royal Coach of FAyetteville. Royal coach tried to charge for virtually everything that had happened to the car since Enterprise had it. The original estimate was for $2300.00 and included a hood a trunklid, paint and mouldings. Geico adjuster thought it was excessive and that Enterprise was purposely overcharging just get this car fixed and it had high mileage. I was told by another body shop that the dings could be popped out for around $300. I spoke to Damage recovery in Fort Collins several times and they were rude and condescending. THey refused to let me take the car to another body shop for an estimate. They also refuesd to give me any documentation I asked for on the history of repairs for the car.

I did a internet search and was not surprised to learn that this happens all the time with Enterprise. That is their MO. Rent out a car till it gets high mileage then accuse a renter of damage so they can have their own body shop overcharge for repairs so the can then sell the car for more money. The local office was no help . I spoke to an area manager Named Joe who promised he would help and nothing got done. I disputed the damage claimbut they threatened to send to a collection agency if not paid. After 6 mos I finally gave up and Geico paid $1036.36. I received a letter saying the damge was paid in full and they had settled for a reduced amount and I owed nothing.

Now for the real issue of this complaint. I have rented from them on a company account 2 or 3 times since then and
never had much problem. But this past week I tried to rent and the said I was on the DO not Rent List because I owed
outstanding balance of $196.30. I told them that had been settled and I don't know where that amount came from.

One of their minions called accounting and was told that the amount had been sent to First Financial Management a collection agency. The smarmy Branch manager named Norman Myers kept repeating the company line that balance would have to be paid before I could rent. This was a lie as I was allowed to rent before with an override.

Upon further investigation I found out that the $196.30 was submitted after GEICO settled and was for Administration fee, loss of use and depreciated value. It was assessed in MArch of 2012. I was never notified and they sent it to the afore mentioned collection agency. I called our attorney and he said to just pay it and then sue them for my money back since I have documentation. So I had to pay this amoutnt in order to rent that day.

They said I would be removed from the DO not rent list but Im still on it. They lied about the damages done, they lied about the repairs and the amount they actually paid . They refused to give me documentation I requested because it would
provide proof of their SCAM. WHat they actually did was extort or steal money from me that was not owed to them according to paperwork I have. They are Criminals and Thieves. Although they may have some good people working for them I believe if you work for crooks and thieves then that makes you one too.

The branch managers are in on this scam too as is evident by their actions.Refusal to help, not giving me the paperwork requested and generally asisting with this fraud and coverup. If you run a search on this topic you will find hundreds of cases just like thi. That is their MO. They rent rent cars cheap then churn the damages form one renter to another and overcharge the insurance. Its a SCAM .

I will take my lawyers advice and sue them in small claims court. But for anyone reading this stay away from ENterprise. That cheap $40.00 rental can end up costing you thousands if you fall victim to their scam.
