This gamestop has consistently refused to take my trade in of video games in 2010, most recently in June 2010 on the basis that they are not in satisfactory condition.

Gamestop in Hinesville GA, sells to me used games with scratches on them, but i could go as early as two days later, having never played the game, and be told by a game advisor that Gamestop will not accept my trade in because of the condition of the disk. This is nonsense. This occurs the majority of times I trade in games with noticeable scratches.

Often i play the game the same week i trade it in and am rejected.

In other cases, I may get a game with scratches on the reading area of the disk, play it for a few weeks, protect it and be told that the trade in value for the games is decreased.

This is unfair to loyal customers like myself. In fact, it is a form of false advertisement. "Trade in games for store credit! Get more back with the Edge Card! "

Oh im sorry we cant take this game back."

Equivalent message Gamestop conveys to customers -'The scratches on the game that were present when we sold it to you can be used as an excuse not to accept it. We may therefore profit from games which according to us, have no value. We may steal from you, and nothing will change our minds."

Ive noticed that about 15% of items I purchased were not in the working condition advertised. The rate is unacceptable.

I have noticed that this gamestop does not check to see if the game actually works. They just look on the back of the disc to before they turn it in.

The checking process is not efficient. I've gotten games that dont work that have no scratches on them from other gamestops. Xbox Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a Harry Potter game from Ft. Stewart come to mind.

When i was at Ft. Stewart, I often had to spend money on cab fare to return defective gamestop games. I spent over $2000 from the end of 08 to the end of 09 there. Same issues.

What Gamestop needs to do to become a better company

1. Gamestop needs to practice testing its games before acceptance. Get a system to put the disk in. Experiment with the game even after some evidence of game functioning is seen

2.If a game is found defective, call the person and tell him/her to take the game back.

3. Bill and ban him/her from trading until he/she pays the balance.

This is a better standard of determining game quality. It is a safer guarantee of a smooth transaction and inspires buyer confidence.

Otherwise, gamestop will just continue to rip people off.
