I am an elite pro member. my transaction was in their computer. i spent 2,000 dollars last year on game stuff

i return VERY rarely

I asked for a refund of 70dollars from a transaction of almost 400 a few days later

The cashier look up my rewards file saw the transaction and refused to refund the money because i did not have a receipt. Surely the policy of needing proof of purchase is satisfieed when i ordered online picked up at store and used my rewards membership

When i complained the manager just laughed at me

I spend a lot of money on 5 nephews who are teenagers and somewhat (admitedly) indulged

I will not be buying from Gamestop Again

You Have The Receipt

AUTHOR: EJ - (United States)

POSTED: Monday, January 07, 2019

I Am So Glad Anyone Who Wants To Continue Shopping At GameStop In Farmington Hills Can Just Use Their Own Experience To Evaluate The Validity Of My Claim.

In NO Instances Where I have A Rewards Membership Am I Required To HAve A Physical Receipt. I Rely On Digital Technnology Because I Do That For A Living.

The Interesting Thing Is That You Looked At the Receipt Online, So I Know There Is No Ambiguity About My Purchase.

Rudeness

Laughing

- Not according to their return policy that you can pull up On-Line.

• A receipt is required for all returns and exchanges.
• Unopened new merchandise (except tablets) = full refund within 30 days of purchase.
• Opened new merchandise (including tablets) = identical exchange within 30 days of purchase.
• New accessories (opened or unopened) = full refund within 30 days of purchase.
• Unopened new tablets = full refund within 14 days of purchase.
• Pre-owned merchandise = full refund within 7 days of purchase or identical exchange within 30 • Pre-owned merchandise = full refund within 7 days of purchase or identical exchange within 30 days of purchase.
• Downloadable Content (DLC), Digital Games and/or PC Downloads = no returns or exchanges.

This policy doesn't say that it applies to everyone but "Elite Pro" members, and since you are you should be fully aware of their policy.  You didn't seem to have an issue with their policy when you made the $2000 in purchases or the few returns you have made.
The fact that your transaction shows up in your loyalty account doesn't show how it was paid or is considered a proof of purchase. But one has to wonder how you no longer have a receipt of almost $400 in merchandise just a few days later.

I will not be buying from Gamestop Again
- If you disagree with a policy that is exactly what you should do. However, you will find that most other stores have a very similar policy.  In other words KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS.
