I am writing hoping that you can warn others of this rip-off in the form of a fabulous promotion.

Telemarketers for Sunset marketing call stating that your name was given by a friend and mention Wal-Mart and other big stores.

I was contacted by telephone by M4 Sunset group in Cancun offering a promotional rate ($698 US + airfare) to stay at one of their resorts in Cancun for, two adults, two children, four nights PLUS a four night stay at their resort in Costa Rica, PLUS a four night stay in Orlando with Disneyland tickets. The only catch was that we book our Cancun stay first. The sales agent confirmed that the stay was not all-inclusive, but we were entitled to 40% off the all-inclusive rate.

I specifically asked the agent if we would be expected to attend a presentation. She assured me, no, this was just a promotion of the hotel, hoping we would like the resorts and would return and tell all of our friends. I did some checking into the hotels online and found that they got relatively good reviews. Some travelers stated that they were asked to attend a presentation, but they politely declined and that was the end of it. So, I decided to purchase the deal.

WELL! I called today to book our vacation. I was informed that I had agreed to attend the 90 minute presentation and if I chose not to attend I would have to pay regular room rates on top of what I already paid.

PLUS they wanted a $59 fee to activate the account PLUS $150 in taxes. The taxes could be waived if you chose the all-inclusive option at $99 PER ADULT PERDAY.
That's almost $2000 now.

I asked for a refund because the sales agent lied to me about attending a presentation. They said the deal is non-refundable. The reservations agents are extremely rude and argumentative unless you are buying what they are selling.
