We were pitched a deal on accepting credit cards.  The company that processed the credit cards had a great deal; we sign on for a year and if we were not happy we could cancel at no extra charge.

The year went by and we were happy with the actual processing, but the equipment lease fee was outrageous!  So due to all the extra expense for the equipment we decided to cancel the contract.  I did everything that my paperwork specified for me to do.

All was fine and dandy till the equipment rental came due.  I looked at my bank account and saw that I had two drafts totaling over $250.00.  I disputed the charge, and the bank said that the charge would stand.  So next month, I was ready, I spent the money to put a stop on the two drafts that were scheduled to come out.   Knowing that I did not want to spend the money each month to stop the drafts, I closed the account.

Well that made MBF mad, so they started threatening a law suit because we broke our lease.  I never signed a lease for the equipment, nor did I sign a power of attorney for anyone to sign for me.

MBF kept insisting that I broke the lease that I signed, so finally after a couple of months of requesting (verbal and written sent certified), I received a copy of the lease with my "signature".  It was not my handwritting.....shock!!!  I informed them that I did not sign their lease and was not going to pay anything else to them.

Inturn, they sent me and affidavit of forgery that requested unaltered cancelled checks, credit card receipts with my credit card number on it.  In other words they were just wanting access to my money again to restart drafting for that lease.

I basically told them to stick it where the sun don't shine.  And again I was threatened with a law suit, and bullied with the line of it will cost you more in the long run to get an attorney and make a trip to New York....blah, blah, blah.

Here it is over a year later and I still get the letters telling me that they are going to commence legal proceedings against me to recover all monies due, including interest and attorney's fees.  I say go for it, I will bring my signatures up for a court proceeding, but I am not going to give this company access to my money ever again!!!

I did learn a valuable lesson, do your research!!!  This company in a rip-off artist!!!

Criminal complaint?

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 18, 2009

""I received a copy of the lease with my "signature".  It was not my handwritting.....shock!!!  ""

Why haven't you filed a criminal fraud complaint with the DA office of the county inwhich they reside???

That's what I would do.  IF any company were fool enough to fax me any document with a forgery of my signature on it they would never hear from me again, except to TESTIFY during their criminal prosecution.
