MBF Leasing is the most unsavory and unethical company I have ever dealt with, and the nightmare continues.

In October 2005, I met with a rep for MBF. We spent quite sometime going over the terms of the "contract" which was very difficult to read. I had quite a number of questions, which the rep called the company office to clarify. After determining EXACTLY what my monthly fees were ( and I asked several times the exact fees, since the print on the contract was fuzzy)I was told $77.95 a month on a 4 year lease, plus $20.00 in statement fees and the cost of the transaction.

Hoping to boost my business, I signed the contract. To add insult to injury, the rep called the office the day the contract was signed, to run a test of the equipment....he laughingly asked if they were going to charge a fee on the $.01 swipe of his card...they said "of course not"....but you bet they did. That took me several months to get resolved, but that was only the beginning. I soon discovered two other companies were taking funds from my bank account, and I had no idea who they were. Seems they were some type of affiliates of MBF.

I got the machine on 10/26/05 and only used it 3 times, mostly for smaller transactions. The third was the charm. The transaction was for over $2,000.00 which didn't get credited to my account for 2 weeks. In the meantime, MBF and all of the other companies took their funds out (twice)causing me to overdraw my account. I finally had to close my account and switch banks, to keep them from cleaning me out.

I returned the machine in March to the address on the box,a company called Vericomm, since the rep didn't know where to send it. It was then returned to me unopened and I then returned it to the MBF's rep, with a signed receipt.

At the time of the return I also sent a letter documenting my dissatisfaction. Since then I have recieved nothing but computer generated phone calls (sometimes 20 or more a day), as well as dunning notices, each with a different amount due. I sent another letter in July to the New York office. To date, I have never received a letter in reply to mine. What I did find (behind the bushes in my front yard)was service on a lawsuit instigated by MBF.

This has cost me hundreds of dollars, not to mention hours and hours of time put into replies and looking up information. As much as I want to defend the suit, it was filed in NY, out of state for me, and they obviously know how much it will cost to do so.

These people are absolute bottom feeders, and I would strongly advise anyone looking into charge card services, to deal with someone honest. The only reason I signed with them was that I knew their rep. He left the MBF's employ, and is deeply disturbed about the whole situation as well.

These people need to be sued, but they seem to suck in small business people, knowing we don't have the financial wear withall to do so.
