I was contacted by a sale representative and taken thru the approach that Mckenzie Scott would use to assist me in finding employment. I paid $16.000.00 for new resumes, direct mail campaign, access to private web site, resume distribution to executive search firms and venture capital firms. I spent the better part of two days at their headquarters meeting with my "personal consultant" who a few weeks after I left their offices returned to her private law practice but was still supposedly available for "council". I found out about her departure after numerous emails and telephone calls were unanswered. After a few emails back & forth between me, my consultant and MS's managing partner, I received the list of companies that based on my imput at their headquarters, I was to cull & select 2500 for a direct mail campaign. I could not select 2500 since the list contained companies that would be impossible to match against my skill set. After going thru the potential list of companies, I emailed MS's managing partner & told him that fully 90% of the companies contained on the list would not be interested in me. The reason was quite simple. These companies did not do enough business to justify hiring someone with my background at a senior management level and at least 50% of those companies did less total business then the compensation they would have to pay me. I emailed their managing partner since by this time my personal consultant could not be reached at all and explained the problem and asked if their was a more effective way to spend the approximate $4000.00 that the direct mail campaign would cost me. He said NO. I asked for my $4000.00 back and he said NO. Having no other alternative I spent days selecting worthless companies and my resume, I think, was mailed to approximately 2200. The results cames as no surprise. No phone calls, no interviews and certainly no job offers. Regarding thier private web site, it was useful but I could have gotten the same information from using other free sources including registering with the top executive recruiters in the world at no personal expense. The final insult cames when after a year of filing monthly progress reports with MS I did not do so and when trying to access their private web site I was denied access. I sent an email and was told that since I did not file my monthly report I failed to live up to the terms of the contract so I was thru. Looking for employment is difficult enough, time consuming and often frustrating. When one spends a few dollars or in my case $16,000.00, in an effort to become employed and receives the lack of professional guidence, expertise and "it's your problem not ours" response from a supposedly reputable company whose only interest is their bank accounts, then the system needs to be fixed. I read the stories of other MS clients and we all have had very similar experiences. I would suggest that their are many others, perhaps hundreds, of former and current Mckenzie Scott clients who have experienced or are experiencing results such as mine. When one asks for help in reaquiring their dignity and sense of self worth thru finding meaningful employment, those who are in the business of providing those services should be held to a standard that supercedes a signed check. My experience with Mckenzie Scott should be an example to others who are contemplating their services "To Be Ware". Michael aventura, Florida

I do not think it is fair for someone who filed a genuine complaint against this company to be forced to say something nice in order to get a partial refund on their own money they work so hard to earn.

Amicable Settlement

Mckenzie Scott and I have reached an amicable settlement of our dispute. It was more of a misunderstanding than anything else. They are a reputable company which seems to be sincerely interested in meeting both the letter and spirit of our agreement, and in helping me bring my search to a positive conclusion.
