What a nightmare!  American Van Lines bid for my moving contract from Texas to Colorado.  I chose a cost mid-range on all the bids.  I thought that would be safe - what a joke.


Once American had my initial money, they began to strongly encourage me to "over" estimate my move volume.  They did not explain that this was just money went into their pocket and did not apply to the contractor they hired to move the furniture. 


All Coast Transporters arrived a day late.  They have kept increasing the price as well.  Even though I have a SIGNED BINDING contract for $2600. They refuse to deliver my furniture without my paying $2769.51 even though my contract says $2600.  This is on top of the $2016 to America Van Lines.


I don't have my furniture, All Coast ignores a binding contract, and now I am worried the stuff will be broken.

I had finally stopped telling everyone I met about my nightmare with the bait and switch = keep upping the price movers.  And then I opened my old email and read the rebuttal.   Jeez, what complete lies. I NEVER tried to stop payment and immediately THAT DAY paid the disputed amount.

Yeah I agreed to pay - they had my stuff - days late and some broken (I found that out days later as I unpacked) they had me over a barrel and they knew it.

Obviously they have so many unhappy customers he can't remember one from another - I filed a compliant with the BBB which was worthless.  I got ripped off and now I'm going back to tell everyone I see - even absolute strangers what a completely bad experience I had.  My very small  revenge is that I have actually had three friends who were moving use someone else. I'll keep on my campaign - I dropped it a month back, but now I feel a renewed urge!!

Mr.Mack's confusion

  Mrs. Mack Booked her move with American Van Lines (agent). When Mrs. Mack was booked at her estimated weight 10,486 lbs at an estimated price of $4,290.70. Mrs.Mack gave American a deposit of $2,016.14 leaving a balance of $2,273.93. All Coast then contracted the move through American to pick up 10,486 with the balance of $2,273.93. On 12/1/09 Mrs' Mack's items were picked up up from Ferris TX. At the pick up my driver advised her she had more weight and items then she told American (which she signed off on) about 12,000 is what my driver advised her that she had. My driver asked her if she wanted a binding estimate of $2,600.00 to be paid at delivery. He explained if the weight went over she was would not be charged. She agreed. She signed the paperwork and after my driver left she called the office and demanded that she DID NOT want the binding offer she had signed and wanted to go with the weight of the actual shipment. We told her ok we were only trying to make her happy. When we weighed the truck it came to 11,900lbs. Which brought here weight up to 1414 lbs over the estimate and a new balance of $2,769.51. When advised of the overage she was furious and demand she pay her agreed upon price. We told her this was her option not ours. As a courtesy we then agreed to stick to the binding estimate of $2,600.00. Since then she has tried to do a charge back two times to her credit card and lost both times and has contacted the BBB as well. Both companies asked to see the paperwork and sided with us.

   I move on average 1,600 people a year (and growing) and have very few problems. My company takes great pride in serving our costumers the best we can. As you can see we are rarely on this site(which is a good thing cause we rarely get complaints). We have been in business since 2005 and I try and take the time to tell everyone my side of the story. As you all know there is always another side to a story. If I was wrong in this case I wouldn't have won the charge backs from the credit card company or the BBB claim. I'm sorry I can't make everyone happy but we try the best we can to give our customers a good move.
