I signed up with privacy matters for a free credit report with a 1.00 processing charge. I never got a credit report and that day cancelled my account. The member services representative told me that no charges would be billed to my account, a week later I found a charge for $1 from this company.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

privacy matters

AUTHOR: Rauxier - (U.S.A.)

I had the same experince as every one with this company. I got all my money back. This is how. I sent out three letters with same content each had all three name , and, address at top of the letter. Checked credit card for process for dispute, and sent out my dispute letter, and then I called the credit card.

Found a address for Privacy matters. Member Savings P.O Box 5152:Des Plaine, IL 60017-5152: found a phone number on the credit card for the company which had a large number, the first 9 numbers is a ID number. mailed them a cer. Letter, and called several times. I sent a complaint letter to: Ms. Monica Prandi-Svetogorsky: Citizen's Advocate: Consumer Protection Division: State of Illinois Office of the Attorney General: 100 WEst Randol;ph Street: Chicago, IL 60601 .

My credit card was very good they remover all the charges, I received email from privacy matters that all the charges were removed from my acount Letter from Ms. Monica with the company reply to my complaint. Use mail for these. Fill on line Federal Trade Commission, Ftc Bureau of Consumer, and Better Business Bureau.

There is no excuse for a Bank or credit card not to work with and for you it you money. If a bank does not help you close the acount, take all your family and friends and ask them close their acounts. Fill a complaint with Attorney General of the state that the Bank is Based, make sure to give the Bank manager a copy. The same is with the Credit card company, If they do not help you close out the account, and fill a complaint with the attorney general of the sate they are based in. and federal trade commission, Better Business Bureau . Make extra copys give them to Bank manager or send them to the credit card company. All this is inconvient and time consumming.

My real fear is this company privacy Matters is just a front , taking people personal information, no one has got a credit report, even with all the charges, some people are getting bill from off the wall companys. If they sell off our information for ID theft it would be very hard to track it back to this company.
