Complaint Review: RESURGENT CAPITAL SERVICES
RESURGENT CAPITAL SERVICESP.O. BOX 10497 GREENVILLE, South Carolina U.S.A.
RESURGENT CAPITAL SERVICES claims I defaulted on a debt to Sprint Communications for $267.36. Their records show my now CLOSED accounts in good standing. I informed the first debt collector MERCHANTS CREDIT GUIDE CO. of this fact, and thought the matter ended. In Nov. Resurgent acquired this account from Merchants and claimed I still owed money. I originally received a collection notice from Merchants Credit Guide in September 2006, claiming I defaulted on a payment to Sprint Communications Co. in the amount of $ 267.36. I contacted Sprint in writing, and on the phone, about the matter, and they said my now CLOSED account was in good standing.
I informed Merchants Credit Guide Co. of this information and assumed the issue was dead.
Resurgents must have acquired this account in Nov. 2006, because that's when I started receiving collection notices from them for the same amount of $ 267.36.
Resurgents has LVNV Funding, as their current creditor too.
Resurgents has sent me one letter per month, and now is adding penalty charges to this balance of $ 267.36. I do NOT owe this amount to ANYONE, as I ALWAYS pay my bills by the deadlines.
How do I stop this harrassment, and how do I insure they are not ruining my good credit. I have done nothing wrong.
