Sirius has terrible customer service.  I was charged on my credit card and amount that wasn't at all what I agreed to over the phone with the sales rep.  I was charged two separate charges for $48 each and I hadn't even installed or activated the receiver yet.  I was all within 30 days money back guarantee, so I needed to call within the 30 days.  When I called to attempt to return it and to cancel the service (which technically wasn't even connected as I didn't have a device installed), I was on hold one evening for 20 minutes for 3 separate times.  I was transferred 2 or 3 times each time and still could not cancel the service.  I had to call my credit card company to file a complaint and to try to get the charge reversed.

I however couldn't return it without a Return Merchandise #, but was unable to since I was not able to speak to the correct person even after being on hold and being transferred several times and in the end being told that that was a different department and then finally after being on hold for an additional time, couldn't take the wait. 

I called again on another evening 2 weeks later and was finally able to get an RMA number, but was transferred 3 times again and still not 100% sure the service is cancelled. 

I'm hoping this will be the end of it, but from reading the other complaints, I have my doubts.

I actually know about Worldspace. However this reply in itself would have NOTHING to do with a degree in electrical engineering..it only has to do with satellite radio entertainment services. Just like when someone writes a book it does not imply they are an expert on copyright laws..unless of course they are claiming they wrote a book regarding their expertise in copyright law.

But it is good for you that your stalking skills against me to find mistakes as proven fruitful. I should have stated that "XM and SIRIUS receivers" are not available in India, and not satellite radio in general. So wallow in your "victory" which as usual is based on a technicality and does nothing to discredit me, help the OP, help the business..and not to mention that no one but you. gives a rats ass.

But as well, I doubt too many of the outsourced workers for Sirius/XM have satellite radio..and as well Worldspace as some issues of their own..

So ONCE again ROZbert...all you have done is PROVE CONCLUSIVELY..that your ONLY intent on commenting here..was to discredit me due to your sickness. YOU do not care about this poster, Sirius/XM, or anything for that matter but some kind of pissing match against ME PERSONALLY that you simply CAN NOT LET GO OF due to your inferiority complex and obsession.

Now, do you wish to debate me like a man regarding my reply..that there is no way they could have charged this customer for activation unless an SID was submitted? I didn't think so...because that would require YOU to have actual knowledge in a field other then internet stalking, trolling, and your keen ability to find technical mistakes in a post. But when it comes down to a real debate..you seem to be a giant COWARD.

WorldSpace announces potential decommissioning of satellites ...

WorldSpace, a bankrupt satellite radio company, is running so low on funds that it is preparing to send its satellites to a premature death.

The Silver Spring company has been in Chapter 11 since October 2008 and announced this week that negotiations with a lender and prospective buyer had fallen apart.

as a matter of fact they have never even seen a satellite receiver as it is not available in that part of the world.. , ..

Not so Rozzy.  WORLDSPACE has a  satellite to cover that region of the world and anyone can purchase a worldspace receiver.  FYI, an article reporting this was written in March of 2003.  Tell us, aren't electrical engineers (you know, folks who actually have a BSEE degree) supposed to try to keep up with the times?

In order for them to charge to "activate" a radio..someone had to submit the "SID" number...aka Sirius IDentification Number.

Now they can certainly charge for activation if a receiver is not yet installed as they have no way of checking the install from India where the customer service is located (outsourced), as a matter of fact they have never even seen a satellite receiver as it is not available in that part of the world.. , ..they can not possibly charge you anything, unless someone gave them the SID numbers to activate along with the account information. Sirius has NOTHING to do with the install...they simply get a call from the customer..ask the SID number..and activate. They would not have any way on Earth to know if it was installed..or still in the box under a Christmas tree.

So again the question is..not what the amount is..but what are they charging you for if the service was not activated voluntarily by whomever submitted the account info, and the SID numbers?
