Suburban Propane is the biggest ripoff when it come to charging for propane. Internet

We have been living in my current home for a little over 3 years now. We have a 266 (approx) gallon tank in our back yard. Every year we contact Suburban Propane and the conversation always starts out the same. This year was no different. When talking to the sales person on the phone, I asked her about the current price per gallon for propane. The lady on the phone quoted me $4.66 a gallon. I told her that it was to expensive. She put me on hold (as they always do every year) and gave me another quote and to be honest I don't remember what it was. I repeated the same thing that it was to expensive. She finally gave me a final quote of $3.29 which was still almost 50 cents higher than another propane company that I had called after talking with Suburban Propane. I feel they give you the first highest quote to see if you will just be okay with it and then if you don't like the price they will reduce it. Why not just be honest and give me the lowest possible price to begin with? I now wonder if I have been taken for the previous years. I don't even know if I have been given the lowest price possible. The last three times when talking to a sales person I just thought that person didn't know what they were talking about. But it is like this with every different person we talk to. I am now currently looking for other alternatives to heat my home. They charge you a fee to remove their own equipment which I will be soon requesting them to do. It is like I am being punished for not wanting to use them anymore.
