I bought a Samsung Galaxy S (Samsung Vibrant) handset from T-Mobile last July. The reason why I bought this handset was because the touchscreen on my other device had died. I really did not want to buy a Samsung Device because I noticed that the Behold 2 was plagued by endless hardware problems, and update issues. (T-Mobile and Samsung's blatant refusal to update devices)
And what motivated me was the fact that Samsung PROMISED to update this device to FROYO in 2 weeks!
Well I bought the device under false pretenses, after being misled about this devices reliability and the promise of an update to the NEXT OS Android 2.2.1 (Froyo), (Bait and Switch)
Within a few months of having this device while my phone was charging I was prompted that I had an update waiting. Leaving the phone on the charger (as instructed) I proceeded to download and install this update. As soon as the update was finished, my phone restarted. But instead of my phone booting up it stayed stuck on the intro Samsung Vibrant Boot screen. I waited hours, no change. So I called T-Mobile, who after over 2 hours on the phone, FINALLY agreed to exchange my device. They then proceeded to tell me that I would receive my phone in three business days. They mentioned express shipping and said if I choose that it would arrive by Tuesday at the latest.  This was on a Friday. Well the Next week (Thursday), and after waiting over 4 business days for my device; I called customer service who then told me that my device was on Back order and that I would receive it as soon as they have one available.  They told me that they knew about this for the last TWO weeks, I asked to be refunded for express shipping and they proceeded to try to rebut with me, etc. well after an hour of arguing with them about how this is wrong, they finally transferred me to a manager. After speaking with the Manager for a half hour they said they had to then transfer me again and they asked me to please hold. I waited up to an hour for any sort of answer and all of a sudden my phone started ringing indicating that my call was being answered.
Hello this is so and so Pizza how may I help you. THE MANAGER actually transferred me to a Pizza Place!
Well after a month of waiting I finally received my replacement device. As soon as I received it I noticed it had the latest build Android 2.1 (Eclair) but NOT FROYO as they Promised. This was the end of October. 1 week later I was prompted that I had another update. I thought that this may just be the Operating System that they promised. So I proceeded with the same install process, once again leaving my phone on the charger. This time it powered off, and my screen stayed black, and my phone would not power on. So I proceeded to call T-Mobile, and this time I was able to exchange my device for the third time a little easier. (Less than an hour on the phone.)
After having this phone a week the battery died so I put it on the charger, When I checked on my phone the screen was black and my phone would not power on.
THIS time I called T-Mobile and they were bullying, combative, and downright ignorant
it took me over 6 hours just to get a new phone. And when my new phone arrived it arrived in used condition. NOT like new, refurbished etc. The plastic was messed up covering the screen.
The USB door did not lock and was loose, the battery cover was wobbly and loose. THIS WAS MY FOURTH device.
I called T-Mobile who LIED to me and said I could go to their store and have my phone echanged for a NON Samsung phone, the HTC MyTouch 4G or HTC HD7. They told me to go to the store, they put it in their notes. This was a Manager who told me this. I went to the store, and they called the Cops on me! Well I've had this 4th phone for less than 6 months, and my phone reboots automatically, freezes constantly, and is almost completely inoperable.
Even worse T-Mobile has blocked us from accessing their call center, NOW we cannot call T-Mobile!
At all. They then modified our personal information, and account information without anyone's consent. I have contacted lawyers, who T-Mobile then proceeded to bribe.
The point is this is a Criminal Organization and they use Mafia style tactics to screw their customers over and control them. They have become increasingly impossible to deal with and have broken the law several times. I would like to see this matter resolved, And I would like to call everyone up to BOYCOTT T-Mobile!
