Vonage Phone Service Issued me a toll free number they didn't own Internet

Last night at 2am CST I received a phone call from a woman. She asked me if this was liberty settlements. I said no. She said the toll free 877 number was published on their website at www.libertysettlements.com

I went to the website and sure enough, there was my phone number. It was posted in big type on their homepage and placed on their contact page as their toll free number.

I called their land line number and left them a message to cease and desist. I also contacted them through their contact form. This morning I got a call from a guy there. He repeated what I said on the message and told me that what I have to do is call the phone company and tell them the number is theirs. I told him no way. I told him the number was already used for business and marketed. He claims that his company owned the number for 2 years. I told him that what happens when people do not pay their phone bills is that their number is recycled and someone else ends up owning it.

After all of this happened I decided to call my 877 number and what happened? A machine answered for liberty settlements! So now I realized that Vonage issued me a phone number that they did not control!

I called the guy at Liberty Settlements and appologized for my recent complaint and explained what is happening. He said that in the past couple weeks he has been getting alot of calls for the wrong number. What this means is that my marketing was good but people were not reaching me. This suddenly turned into a loss of business lawsuit which I am filing ASAP against Vonage Phone Service.

I logged in to Vonage and YES, there are a few incoming calls to that 877 number according to my account history which NEVER reached me!

I am currently looking for a good attorney who can handle this case.
