Last May, my wife became severely  ill and I was required to take over the duties of paying our bills.  To make this easier for me, she set up as many of them to pay automatically each month.  She attempted to set this up with We Energies and she was under the impression that it had been taken care of.

I noticed in July that I had not received a bill from We Energies.  Nor had any money come out of our account to pay for our electricity.  I signed in to the We Energies account and saw that there was a balance.  Paid it immediately.  In September I noticed the same thing.  No bill and no money taken out of our account.  Therefore I signed in and paid the balance again.

With all of the turmoil going on in our lives, I was proud that I had been able to step up and keep the bill process up to date and on time.  However, this past week, while meeting with a banker to arrange financing for a new residence that will make my wifes life much easier, I was told that our credit was excellent other than derogatory records made by We Energies.  Four negative reports from them in the past few months.

I was floored as I had gone out of my way to pay these bills even though I never received a single statement from them.  I had to find out that they were considered late by We Energies while sitting in a meeting with our bank.

When I spoke to We Energies, they told me that paper billing ceases once you sign up for their online bill paying.  I had no information about this nor any notification whatsoever.  Nor have I ever received notice that the account was ever late.

We Energies is not sympathetic to my plight at all.  They actually seemed rude when I asked them to perform a courtesy removal of this negative information from my credit report.  It was not an issue of not being able to pay or avoiding payment.  I pay all of my bills on time.  I made deliberate efforts to pay the bills even without receiving a statement or any commnunication from them.

It is my understanding that there is nothing I can do about this.  Shame on you We Energies.  You are effecting my credit for the next seven years because of a lack of communication.  I hope you are proud that because of this stance, you are holding us back from getting my wife the type of home she requires to function a little easier.

I have never been more disappointed in a Company as much as I am with We Energies right now.

Situatuion Resolved

Thanks to a very understanding employee at We Energies, my issue has been resolved.  I am impressed with the professionalism used by this particular employee.  Regardless of who was at fault, (probably me) it was agreed that there was a disconnect between us and they fixed the situation to my satisfaction.

Thank you We Energies for finding a fast and viable solution to the problem I had!  My faith in you as a Company has been restored.
