 WE Wnergies uses their power to bully individuals. They are our not choice for service in Wisconsin and they let their consumers know that the game will be played by their rules and their rules only. About two years I found out that I had received a 60 day late from them - which I was confused about considering I had been making in time payments to them monthly. As I investigated a few months earlier I had paid my bill and transposed two numbers therefore causing a deficit of $4. Yes $4...so that amount rolled over and then when I paid the new charges the next month I didn't include this past due $4 for some reason ...it was an oversight. And they marked me late 60days. I called and wrote and asked them to remove this terrible derogatory mark as any sensible person would agree that wasn't fair. But they would not- Today, I received a notification from Transunion stating that I received a negative remark on my credit report and when I looked into it...it was from We Energies yet again! I was shocked...so as I'm investigating it I realize that the bill pay option I set up through my bank did not go through. Yes, this would be considered an error on my part and I am completely sick over it. I switched banks a couple months ago and two months ago made a payment to the using this service from my bank and then thought I had used it again this month to pay it but I'm guessing I may have not clicked through all the steps/presssed some sort of button as a final review and believes I paid it. Now again, that is my fault- should have checked blah blah. But I spoke to We Energies today paid my entire balance in full in a good faith effort to clear up my error and they still refused to work with me on the late. I'm writing this report and would be happy to share my credit report...I have not one SINGLE late on my report - not ONE from any other creditor BUT We Energies. So I know that's it not that I am just irresponsible but their bullying needs to stop. I have no where else to turn to to heat my home as they are the people of WI's only choice. It's really disgusting how they treat people and it needs to stop.

A little dedication to customer service?

I know what you were saying but I am still pretty mad. Yeah why are they 60 days late? And yes, to be honest it doesn't seem to have moved me out of excellent credit but I still don't appreciate that they are a monopoly who doesn't hold customer service dear to them. In fact, they could careless. Maybe I deserved this...fine...but at least treat me with a little respect and say we can look into it further instead of reading lines from a script. They don't have to worry that maybe you will leave and take your business elsewhere cause you can't. I own a business and I have had a lot of customers who I don't agree with but I appreciate all the business they have given to me and always take a step back and review each situation case by case. Without customers and sales you can't operate. And anyday a week if I had an outstanding bill and someone called me and paid it in full I would have no interest in harming their credit I only want my money. Well I guess I should stop writing on ripoff report and start calling Allen Leverett, the CEO to tell him what I think! Credit Reports

Credit Reports are used to to show a person's history on how they handle credt. This is so that potiential creditors can assess a person's risk if they offer them credit. One thing that reports don't show is why a person isn't paying, because it doesn't matter. All creditors care about is what are the chances they will get their money back. So there is no difference between someone who make a "mistake" and doesn't pay them and one who is intentionally not paying them.

This is why your 60 day lates are valid. Of course you are frustrated...but they are valid. As it shows a lack of "caring" and does indicate you are a higher risk. After all how do they know that you won't make another "mistake" in the future.   Now, believe this or not but I actually agreee that they should be a bit "forgiving" espeically over the $4.  But here is the thing..they were. They could have reported a 30 day late.  You were not reported for 60 days, and admit you received another statement you just didn't read. Had you fixed it then even though you were late it would never have shown up on your report.

As for the positive spin on this. As I said earlier hopefully this helps you to be even more attentive to your bills. Also, just like everything else on your credit report the most recent stuff has the biggest effect. So unless you are doing a major purchase in the next few months, the effect will be reduced and if this is your only negaitve mark a "strong" credit report can overcome even these late pays.

 See how things can be overlooked sir...I never said that. I said that I don't have a single other derogatory mark on my credit report from anyone else so I know I'm not just an irresponsible a**hole trying to blame them. But yeah I made a good faith effort to fix that as a just a common person and they don't care. And yes I'm sure they hear sob story after sob story but I think there needs to be a little case by case evaluation done . So yes, I feel pretty "ripped off" right now and I don't like that.

 I don't think that the bill is unimportant and have faithfully paid my bill on time for over 17years. But I am pissed as I feel as a consumer I have no other option to use another company for service. If this happened with another creditor...I could chose to discontinue my services and go with another company. But here in WI that in not a choice. So I do feel bullied by them and I think that is pretty unfair. And come on dude $4 -you can't possibly agree that warranted a derogatory mark on my credit report do you? After paying all those years on time, etc. etc. I think some type of forgiveness could have been given. I am only human. And now yes I am livid - and if you read my statement I take full blame but I, as a customer would like to discountinue my service as I don't like that treatment. But they monopolize this business and we are forced to use their services to boil water for our kids dinners and provide heat to our homes - we are left no choice. But ya besides them I have no other dings on my credit report and despite what you think that takes a lot of work. I have my opinion and I am gonna complain and complain to whoever will listen and hey if you don't agree more power to ya!

Typical.  You fail to pay the right amount, you fail to review your statements, you fail to review your bank accounts to
make sure the funds are actually being withdrawn.  So of course it is ALL their fault. Where THEY need to "Give you a Break" and just remove the negative marks from your report.

You don't have any late pays from other companies.  Great.  All that says is that you pay them before you are 30 days late. Perhaps you "review" those statements a bit more carefully. Perhaps you "think" that "Oh it's just the electicity bill so it really isn't that important".

Sorry but there is NOTHING that you have written that says they are at fault and why, other than you wanting them to, they need to remove the negative marks. Does it suck..yes but perhaps you will now be a bit more dedicated to making sure that you are really paying your bill as you are supposed to.

You may be in for a surprise if you really think any other company would treat you any differently?  Oh and if you say you have had other customers "fix" issues like this, then perhaps you need to be extra careful about your bill paying habbits just in case they decide to no longer "fix" your mistakes.

No I do not work for them...
