Not long after being hired on at this company I soon learned they will do anything to save a dime or make a dime off of a OTR driver. If it seems to good to be true it probably is is a great lesson learned again after working for this place. I needed a doctor's note and to pay 1000 dollars to have an inverter installed in order to have a fridge and microwave in my truck. They do a sleep study on 80 percent of drivers charging them 900 dollars for cpap equipment, deducting from their pay. I got the doctors note for the need for an inverter but could never get routed to the yard to get the inverter installed. it was a good thing because the truck became non-operational and they switched me to another truck in the middle of the night without an inverter or electronic logs like I had only to take away safety points later because they hadn't provided me with my last 7 days worth of logs. Nobody ever returns calls at this company. If they do its a week later. The officer that stopped me let me go as I showed him the breakdown paperwork proving I had only had the truck a short period of time.  When I got the chance to notify Crete they didn't care and it was used against me. If you have electronic logs to start you shouldn't even be switched to paper logs. I was hired for a 6 day fleet which soon became obvious that I had to stay out longer periods if I wanted to make decent money. They prefer you not to use toll roads as that costs them too much money. They give you dirty trucks yet expect you to pay 100 bucks to have it cleaned when you turn it in. They have you deadhead to get home for free, no matter how many miles. They are big on rules however the rules only benefit them and their pockets. I ultimately left because they added to my taxable income a lumper more than once. Theybcharged me income taxes on it on three different occasions and never reimbursed me once. The lumper receipts were provided with all the pertinent information yet they failed to reimburse me claiming they needed to contact the main office. I'm still awaiting their return call. Stay away from this "crooked carrier corporation."
