This company approached me through their sales Rep John P, in July of this year to offer me a better rate for processing cards and to save money by switching to them. I listened to his sales pitch, saw the rates and thought that I would try to use their company since the rates that he quoted me were lower than what I was currently paying to the other company. I was paying about $45 with both the lease and the minimum fees through that other company.
When I first signed up back in July, the sales rep had my old address on the paperwork, and I had specifically told him that my business has nothing to do with that address anymore. He signed me up for a wireless terminal to use after I specifically asked him if there would be any additional cellular/wireless charges associated to it, and assured me there would be no extra cost.
John really fubard the paperwork up when he proceeded to file everything with the incorrect address. The equipment was sent there, and left on the porch of an empty building for about a week and a half. They only realized this when their technician called to have me activate the terminal, and realized that I never received it.
September rolls around, and still no terminal However, my account was charged 57.37. Naturally, I was mad because 1, I was charged and I didnt even have a CC terminal yet, and 2) it was more than the sales rep quoted.
Finally, I receive the wireless terminal, and get things set up. It looks like a nice machine and works (although I had to fix the address programmed into the machine, since it was the incorrect one). I received a statement in the mail from North American Bancard. The minimum billing adjustment fee was $25, the wireless fee was $20, the statement was $5, and the total with taxes and everything added up to that $57.37 number. Keep in mind this is NOT INCLUDING the lease payment of $39/month.
I checked the contract that they had mailed me, and it had information filled in about the wireless fees, etc that was added AFTER THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT was signed. I never agreed to these high charges. This is a complete ripoff. There is no way that I would have ever signed a contract for their services that add up to the $96.37/month when I currently had a company that I was paying $45/month to.
When I contact the Manager Jaime about this, she told me that there are always the wireless fees on the terminals. When I explained that I never agreed to those charges, and that they were put in after the contract was originally signed, she told me that she would have my sales rep call me.
He didnt call me. I will be pursuing this legally, but wanted to warn others about their unethical business practices.
