Team USA Moving ripoff Fort Lauderdale Florida

I contacted Team USA in February, 2006. They booked my move (They did not inform me that they were brokers and not actually movers) and took a check for $1107 via fax. My scheduled move was April 2006.

Four days before the move (Friday before a Easter holiday weekend)they told me that the carrier had cancelled on them. My wife and I were already booked for flights to take us to our destination in one week. Team USA said they would try to find another carrier so we would not have to change our flights.

After nearly 24 hours I was told by a man named Tim that they would not be able to find another carrier and that I should find another one myself. I twice told him that I was NOT cancelling my contract with Team USA, that, in fact, I understood him to be cancelling Team USA's commitment to find me a carrier. He agreed. I gave another carrier $1100 to move my furniture by my flight deadline.

The following Monday I emailed a request to be reimbursed my $1107 deposit. By Wednesday my conversation with Chad of Team USA informed me that I would not get my deposit back. I have reported Team USA to the Better Business Bureau and the federal transportation (FMCSA). I am suing them in small claims court.
