Allen Alijah from Prime Assets (aka Allen Realty) put an apartment for rent on craigslist for $1800 a month in Manhatttan. I contacted him and we agreed on a 6 month lease. He asked me to pay him in cash and I gave him $3600 (first month + security). He gave me the keys and he said I can move-in as soon as today.
I went back to Long Island to grab my stuff and when I came back to the apt the key wasn't working and Mr Alijah stopped answering to the phone. I had to make a police report but since I paid him in cash I basically have no case. Lesson learned.
I hope someone will see this so they avoid getting scammed by this individual in the future.
