Priceline Booking.com, Priceline, agoda, Rentalcars.com, KAYAK, and OpenTable. Paid in full for services not rendered

I made and paid for a car rental reservation at the same time I booked a round trip flight with Priceline. When I tried to pick up my rental car, I was told my reservation was in a name that did not match my drivers license. My reservation had my user name for Priceline website. I called Priceline customer service and was told there was nothing they could do and I could not be refunded. The rental car company said the only adjustments that could be done had to be through Priceline.

 It is completely ridiculous to not prompt for the drivers name on a car rental reservation but does so for airline tickets. My reservation email is my first and last name and my credit card that I used for the reservation is my first and last name.

Keeping funds for services not rendered is called stealing. I was not asking for anything other than what I paid for. Terrible customer service. Horrible business practice to flat out refuse to assist a consumer. Misleading false advertising on the website that says you can cancel up to the reservation date and time is not true. I wasn't asking for the cancellation of my reservation but thought that was an easy fix. I was at the car rental counter 30 minutes before my reserved time.

I will never use Priceline or its affiliate companies. This experience has made me aware of the companies that are affilated with Priceline. So I will never use Kayak.com, Agoda, Rentalcars.com or Bookings.com. It is pathetic to be a Billion dollar company and keep hard earned money by mislead consumers. Buyer beware.

The lessons I have learned are as follows. Never book or pay in advance. Do not use third parties for anything. Read consumer reviews where ever they are available such as this. Always use a credit card so charges can be disputed. Write positive reviews for companies that give you what you pay for and treat their customers with common courtesy.
