On 11/14/2023, I went to purchase presale Kenny Cheney tickets for a show at the MetLife on August 17th 2024.

I searched for Ticketmaster and I clicked it but I did not realize that ticketsales.com popped up instead. I searched for  8 tickets in section 140. Before I purchased the tickets I wanted to see how much

The fees would be.  The site requested credit card info prior to seeing how much the fees would be so I entered my info. At no time thereafter did it say purchase tickets. I hit next to advance to the next screen.  Instead of displaying the fee amount, to my horror it said that I had purchased 8 tickets and the total was $7,353.26. It still did not give me any breakdown of how they arrived at that total, though the ticket fees did exceed $4000!!

I immediately phoned the website, ticketsales.com and the woman on the phone informed me that there was nothing that I could do, even though the event was nine months away. She said the tickets were a final sale. I asked for a manager and I asked to speak to someone else. She said no.

I then hung up and phoned American Express and they told me they would begin a dispute process so I waited for then to handle it.  Unfortunately they could not resolve my issue because the payment was processed immediately. I called ticketsales.com a second time and they were very resistant. I feel their practices are very deceptive and I would like to be fully refunded. If they feel their business practices are fair, they would display their prices and give people the option to see them before requiring credit card information be entered.

YOU put the card info into the site. Who did that? YOU DID IT! Did it ever occur to you it was a bit unusual for a requirement to put in a card number BEFORE seeing the prices??? Like I've said over and over...the level of lack of financial common sense in this society is absolutely amazing!!!

Or maybe you’re just an idiot?

I just checked TicketSales, and you have to click Checkout and then Place Order for the process to go through. If you did not intend to make a purchase, you should never have provided your credit card number. They also give the option of paying with ApplePay, and ApplePay gives you an additional chance to cancel. Their no-refund policy is posted clearly on the site and is standard for the industry. "Processing immediately” has nothing to do with your ability to dispute a charge. It’s not like a check where you have to stop payment before it processes. If you have a valid dispute, you have 60 full days to file it. The reason you couldn’t dispute it is because you input your credit number and pressed Place Order, which means you authorized the purchase.
