On Dece 02 I paid for Priority Mail through the USPS for a package. With the estimated date of Dec 05, 2023. As of today the package is still going "Moving Through Network"

Departed USPS Facility

SAINT PAUL, MN 55131

December 7, 2023, 1:32 pm

whatever that means. So now expecte delivery date is Friday December 08 2023. I understand the time of year, as well as, possibly short employees, but then why would they sell a product that the USPS knows they can fulfill and charge the rate of Priority Mail? I have also submitted this report on the USPS website, and asked to return my package. I can get it to its destination, and quicker. The return address is on the package, please return the pack and my postage since you could provide the service I paid for. A little note to anyone mailing cards, present, etc. make sure to put a date on the item so you and the detination know how long it took to get where its going. Remember the .32 stamp and mail from east coast to west was 3 days. Prices have gone up and services have gone down.

Please return my package and postage USPS. Thank you.

Priority vs first class

AUTHOR: Flint - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 19, 2023

First, priority and first class mail are exactly the same thing.  It's called "first class" for letters and small packages and "priority" for larger packages and parcels, but the delivery standards are the same.

Second, when you paid for the label makes absolutely no difference.  Did you actually ship the package on the second?  Did it scan on the second?  The USPS closes early on Saturdays, and the last truck leaves many post offices even earlier.  What probably happened is you dropped it off in a mailbox that had been picked up already, where it sat until at least Monday.  In that case, the first day in transit would have been Tuesday, and a delivery by Friday is very normal for USPS.
