Wells Fargo is unethically foreclosing on a property.

Summary-August 10, 2022, I sent a cashier’s check from 121 Financial for $5,500 to catch up on the mortgage of my deceased mother's home.

A few weeks later I was told by a Wells Fargo rep funds had been received but now the check disappeared & funds were never applied to the account. I want to stop the foreclosure & pay the remaining mortgage.

Details - This problem is the result of two financial institutions acting improperly. We didn’t know we were behind until I called Wells Fargo because of stopped statements. August 10, 2022, I called & ask why no statements. I was told we were over $4,000 behind. I let the rep know I had not been aware due to NO statements & I would send funds. I asked statements to be sent so we could keep up with account & for automatic payments to begin again. I was told everything would be taken care. I had my credit union cut a cashier’s check for $5,500 & mailed it August 10.

I found out Community First Credit Union took the payoff of mother’s car from her account without authorization leaving the account without funds for the mortgage. This caused the missed payments.

I still was not receiving statements so called a few weeks later. The rep assured me everything was great. Check was received, account was fine & I should be getting statements soon.

Next I heard from Wells Fargo was paperwork to foreclose.

THIS is why Wells Fargo is foreclosing:

-Mortgage amount due $27,547

-Property tax value $161,144

If I had been receiving statements all along, I would have known about problems.  No suprise ... the Wells Fargo rep lied to me.  She knew I was not receiving statements and would never would.

Most home mortgage lenders who send monthly statements to their borrowers will stop sending statements once a bankruptcy is filed.  They will stop withdrawing automatic payments from your bank account.

They claim sending the statements and withdrawing your funds might be seen as a violation of the bankruptcy automatic stay on collection and they don’t want to run afoul of the bankruptcy law. >>>

My mother passed away July 2021. We kept her accounts for payments but her credit union removed funds.

Wells Fargo is known for unethical treatment of senior citizens. I went to a branch & was told a different story. In August, the account was in "pre-foreclosure." I had proof from of the cashiers check but I was called a bad debt & they never got a check.

I wish to pay off the mortgage & have no more business with a company who preys on Senior Citizens.
