RD Group ripoff fraud scam high cost for resume revision Toronto Ontario

I just got a call from a lady on my cell phone stating that they had gotten my resume and were interested in meeting with me tomorrow to discuss my situation. The address she gave me was 350 Bay Street, Suite 900 and the person I would be speaking to would be Les McKenzie.

When I asked her for the name of the group again, (I wasn't sure I had heard right) she said RD Group. Then I asked for more information on the group and she mentioned that they were an employment agency. I asked if they charged for people to sign up with them and she said that the first visit would be free. I then said that they do charge for anyone signed up with them and that I had been there before and that I was not interested.

I had come across them last year when I had just started to job hunt. I believe that I got an email from someone who offered to forward my email to others who are in my area that would be interested. I went in to meet with them the first time and was told that they liked my resume and thought they could be of help and that they would like to meet with my partner as he would be instrumental in any decisions that I made and that there would be a charge (I forget the thousand dollar amount) for their efforts and that they dealt with Fortune 500 companies.

Luckily, my partner had recently seen an expose on them on 60 Minutes, The Fifth Estate, Twenty-Twenty or W5, where it turned out that the company offered leads with the top HR people in Fortune 500 companies, but only provided revised resumes and said that they only gave advice on how to go about finding the job. I believe that there was a Steven Fisher involved with the first interview.

A few months after that, I saw their booth at a job fair right across from a booth for the OPP. When I mentioned this to one of the staff at the OPP booth, they merely said that they didn't know anything about it. Apparently, they are not allowed to operate in Illinois until they have made restituiton on all the outstanding lawsuits against them.
