I wonder if Jim Glover (or Mr Clinkenbeard) actually knows what some of his employees are up to, as they use HIS name & company to deceive the public.

I called JG Chev. on July 5th & spoke with car salesman Tremayne Becknell about used cars. I asked if he could provide a good used vehicle for $200 or less per month. He said YES, took my information, SS# & got me approved for financing. I drove over that evening & test drove a couple of cars, found a Mitsubhisi Lancer that seemed OK.

When we got to his office, the contract read monthly payments to be between $269.00 and $289.00! I said I cannot afford that! Tremayne said with your credit, that is the best you are going to find anywhere.
It was near closing time & I been shopping for cars for a month. I reluctantly gave in & signed at the $269.00, which ended up being $282.30. The car was still within warrenty, but Tremayne said I would have to contact Mitsubhisi for that information. He said they don't handle that!

Later that evening I felt strongly that I should NOT have given in, and so returned to Jim Glover the next day (friday) to return the car. I spoke with Tremayn's supervisor, the used car sales manager. To his credit, he did take the car back & said he would tear up the contract. I had written a check for $300 for a down payment. He said he could not give that to me as it was "locked up." I would have to return MONDAY to pick up the check.

He promised the check would be there, it would not be cashed. He said "I am a human being first, a car salesman second". I felt I could trust him.

I returned Monday & stared trying to find someone who could help me. I asked several salesmen who directed me to "Big Red". I briefly told him my situation & he called into the office to talk to the supervisor who handled this whole thing. Out came Tremayne to "help" me. He said the check had been shredded, it was now confetti. I felt very uneasy about that, but could do nothing.

A few days later I checked my account on line & saw that the check had indeed GONE THROUGH my ACCOUNT. Caused an overdraft. I was uspet at this point. Felt I had been lied to several times. I returned to Jim Glover once again immediatly that day Sat July 15th & ended up speaking with the head sales manager. He did not give me his name, my paperwork says Scott Hillsberry. He is approx. 5'4, med brown hair.

I explained my entire situation, how I was promised my check, then told it was shredded. I expected my money to be refunded immediatly. He said they legally DID NOT have to refund my money! He ALSO said it is possible my contract is still active, & it would be between me & the bank now. I will swear to all of this in court, and by way of a Lie Detector.

If they happen to realize you do not treat your customers like this & refund my money plus overdraft charges, I will consider removing this information.
In the meantime I will be submitting this to the Better Business Bureau and other interested parties. I am looking for an attorney.

Mr J Glover & Clinkenbeard, are you listening???

Thanks for the update. However, does that mean you refunded HER money and covered HER overdrafts? In this particular case?

Just so you know, in the state of Oklahoma there is no 3 day recission law,,,,, none,,, unless someone goes to your house and sells you something and contracts you in your home. If you purchase a vehicle at a automotive dealership and drive it off the lot you then own that vehicle. You should really do your homework before you make comments.

Next comment: to address her down payment check. We never have a problem returning any down payment check ever, we even have covered the cost of checks that bounced.

I say again, if you have been ripped off then say so, this is a great place for it.

To the dealership response

Is your dealership the only one not familiar with the Federal three business days right of recission law? You even admit she brought the car back next day. Contract or not, she was within her rights. The dealership lack of refunding her money sounds like an attempt to circum-navigate this regulation.

Address the issue. Her main issue is with the return her down payment check. I give credit where credit is due and you do a good job of addressing everything BUT the down payment check and the refund. Not once do you bring THAT subject up in your rebuttal. You bring up her bad language and behavior. I guess if I'd been lied to and caused overdrafts, I'd be cussing and pissed too.

Consumer not ripped off

AUTHOR: Frank - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, August 04, 2007

In response to Paula ****'s submission to this website RIPOFFREPORT.COM.

I have to say that for this to be a legitimate report you would first have to be ripped off. Paula **** was not ripped off by Jim Glover Chevrolet or any of the employee's here at the dealership. Nor was she ever deceived.

Paula **** seems to have serious anger issues. I talked to Paula Hunsinger on Saturday or at least tried to talk to her and help her, but all I got from her was a loud voice and very foul Language. Paula's yelling and foul language was so terrible I had to hang up the telephone, not once but twice. I asked her to calm down and I would be happy to assist her. She continued with the abusive language. She said she would just come up here and get her money. I directed her to the General Sales Manager.

Paula **** Purchased a vehicle. Everything was disclosed to her, Purchase price, monthly payments etc. All was agreed to by both parties. The next day she decides she would like to bring the car back. Now we have a signed contract and agreement. We do not have to take the car back. But as it seemed she would be unhappy we let her out of the contract.

After she agreed to all terms, shook hands, went to finance, signed all the paper work, comes back the next day and backs out. Which is ok as we do not want an unhappy customer. You should be happy with the vehicle you purchase.

Paula received great customer service from a salesman that people absolutely love. She was treated very fair.

Paula ****'s anger issues have blind sided her as anyone in the retail business will tell you if you have someone that yells and screams at you and makes all kinds of demands you are very reluctant to help that person at all.

With all due respect, if there was a mistake made, we own up to it and make it right. Paula's down payment money was returned to her.

If you have been ripped off by a company or corporation I think this is a good way to let the public know. Just remember it says rip off report dot com. Not sounding board .com

Jim Glover report update.

AUTHOR: Paula - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 23, 2007

I was contacted by Jim Glover July 18th, & told I could have my money refunded back to me. I made yet another trip over to retrieve my money.
I don't know if they contacted me because of this report, or if they heard from Better Busines Bureau, or the local TV station. I do know if they had just been honest in the first place, this never would have happened. Possibly they realized the contract they handed me was not valid, as they had never received approval for car insurance from my agent.
