Question about "bettersettle.com"

AUTHOR: Cindy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 02, 2007

Archive.org shows BETTERSETTLE.COM existed, but the pages don't show anything. Can you describe what it was? I am familiar with CAS and it's owner Marshall Lippman, a disbarred lawyer. CAS claims Lippman is no longer w/the company, which has moved to MI. Other names associated with CAS and Lippman are:

National Center For Dispute Resolution (NCDS)

Impartial Services Group (ISG)

Elections Unlimited

National Academy of Conciliators (NAC) (defunct...morphed into CAS)

That's all i can think of off the top of my head but I know what you mean. This is in my opinion one of the more biased arbitration firms that does arbitration for the home warranty and construction industry, plus automobile industry, etc. These type companies compete for arbitration business and the corporations are repeat customers. Consumers are not, therefore it is a conflict of interest that these corporations can specify who does the arbitration. There is a bill in congress, the Arbitration Fairness Act of 2007, that if passed will make mandatory arbitration clauses in consumer contracts unenforceable. Many industries use it to their advantage over consumers, and arbitration keeps complaints out of public record so others can't find out.
