365 Home Warranty did not follow through on their commitment and promise to resolve an issue within my home. Immediately thereafter I asked for my policy to be canceled. I was assured by 365 Home Warranty my policy's cancellation was underway and I would receive a refund/rebate check in the mail soon. After four months of waiting for said check I contacted 365 Home Warranty back and was informed my policy was still in "active status". Fourteen days after I submitted my complaint to the BBB I received a call from 365 Home Warranty. 365 Home Warranty encouraged me to lie to the Better Business Bureau. 365 Home Warranty told me they would send me a check for the remaining balance as I asked in my complaint to the BBB. The representative stated "In return for helping you resolve your issue, we need you to help us." the representative continued stating, "It is damaging to our company when someone files a complaint with the BBB against our company." The representative stated he wanted me to go back to the BBB and rescind my original complaint against 365 Home Warranty. The representative instructed me to say, "After going back through my 365 Home Warranty paperwork I found the refund check 365 previously sent me.” “Can you do that for us?” I asked the representative, "If I don’t agree to do this will I still receive the $250.00 you just promised you’d send to me?", the representative stated, “Yes, we aren’t trying to blackmail you, we just need to you help us in return for us helping you." The representative assured me this was not an "illegal practice". Out of fear I would not receive my refund check as promised, I reluctantly agreed. As promised, I did go back to the BBB. However, I called the NJ BBB the next day and told them everything the representative asked me to tell the BBB. The BBB informed me I wasn't the first person 365 Home Warranty encouraged to lie to the BBB. All of this to achieve a good rating on the BBB website. BEWARE of 365 Home Warranty!
