Action Appliance Inc. Excessive charge for Dishwasher Repair/Repair cancellation. Aurora Colorado

Dishwasher died.  Repairman said the repair would cost $402 in addition to the $55 dollar service charge already incurred. We initially agreed to the repair. 

After the repairman departed, we realized that it was ridiculous to spend $457 to repair a dishwasher that cost $500.  When we received a call that parts were not available and it would take 5 days to get them, we cancelled the repair.

Action Appliamce charged a 25% cancellation fee even though we cancelled on the same day as we agreed to do the repair. (Buyer's Remorse??) We were either going to spend $460 to repair a $500 dishwasher or $157 for having the repairman tell us the dishwasher was dead.

We tried to negotiate a lesser charge (the $55 service charge plus a 10% fee), but Action Appliance was adamant that it was "Office Policy" and no one could authorize a compromise.  We think Action Appliance took advantage of us as senior citizens.
