I needed a few extra dollars to make an unexpected trip back to my home state. Applied for small loanand got it. I understood that the nintey six dollars they take out of my account, was to cover only interest. I ended up not needing the entire amount borrowed and, having been gone all week, to a@place with no internet access and shotty cell service at best, called the company upon my return. I explained that I wanted to make an additional payment on the account and couldn't do so before today (the due date for interest payments) because of my lack of connectivity issues. I was told that, unless I wanted to pay the loan completely off, that I could not make an additional payment...and that "pay down's" would be paid on the next due date, in two weeks. Thus, I will be screwed out of another ninety or so dollars by the next due date. I tried to argue that this didn't make sense...and that it was dishonest. They claimed that they "weren't doind NOTHING illegal or dishonest. Ignorant as I figured them to be. So, apparently, there's nothing I can do besides either pay it off or, wait and pay another ninety dollars. What a rip off. I told them that I didn't know how they slept at night. NEVER...and I repeat NEVER use this company, even if you're in a pinch. It's not worth it. The late fees on a credit card will cost you a lot less...

Excuse me, I do have a clue

AUTHOR: momof2 - (United States of America)

I did not use the money, for a credit card payment.  What I said, was that I needed to make an unexpected trip back home.  I'd already paid my bills, including my credit card payments, and wanted to make sure I'd have enough cash, in case something happened, on my long drive drive. For reasons that do not need to be discussed here, I had to drive instead of flying.   As it turned out, everything was fine and I didn't need the cash.  I was absolutely fine paying the interest fee as i understood what I'd signed for.  The problem I had, was that, when I tried to go back in and pay the money back, they wouldn't let me.  When I said the late fee on a credit card was less expensive, I meant that the thirty dollar fee they'd charge me for a late payment, was way less than what I was going to be charged from this shady company who wouldn't let me pay the money back that I didn't use, in order to avoid more interest charges.  It was an emergency and, at the time, I didn't know what else to do.

This company is shady.  Read all the other reviews which, by the way, I did before coming here, to post.  My question is, why didn't you respond with this nasty sort of post, to the other people who reported similar issues?

The late fees on a credit card will cost you a lot less...
- Really?

Sorry if that sounds rough but your comments show pretty much why you needed to take a Payday loan.  Where if your choices are between a payday loan and being late on your credit card you need to take a hard look at your situation.

First of all if you can make the payment on a Payday loan there should be no reason why you would be late with a Credit Card so this would be a non-issue.

But if you do need to be late on your Credit Card here are the possible "costs"

- The Late fee from your Credit Card.

Generally this is going to be around $40, and is ADDED to the minimum payment.

So for example if your September payment was $50, and you are late.  You will owe $140 for your October payment($50 Sept + $40 Late Fee + $50 October).  If you can't make that minimum payment you will again be reported late and have additional fees added on.  This is not even including the additional interest you will be charged, which depending on your balance and interest rate this could be into the hundreds of dollars.

- If you are over 30 days late you will be reported to the Credit Reporting Agencies as late
This will cause your credit score to go down making getting new credit harder.  Where if you do they will probably charge you higher Interest rates and fees.

- If you have a history of being late with your CC they have the right to increase your Interest Rate
Depending on the card this may be 30%(or more).

- If you are constantly late they may decide to just close your account or lower your credit limit

So you tell us, does a late fee on a Credit Card really cost less?
