I have been purchasing auto parts for my car from this location for years. I ordered from the online website a coil pack for my car on 12/30/14. It turned out I didn't need the part and went to return the unused item to the store from which I picked it up.

Normally when I make a return to the store the gentleman that I usually deal with will refund me in cash as it came from my visa/debit card linked to my checking account.

I asked them to give me cash back and the cashier started telling me that they don't do that to which I replied that you do do it and I have gotten cash back from online orders before. After all, it was cash they took from my visa debit it was not a visa charge card.

The cashier got the store manager by the name of Scott F. to come over and he told me the same thing to which I replied the same as I did to the cashier. He wouldn't budge on this and he offered up that If i didn't like it to call customer service. I did this from the store on my cell phone. The company stated the same thing but handled it professionally on the phone.

I have never had a serious problem at this location but noticed recently a shift is customer service by the new employees and now by the manager. I do not find it appropriate to be be spoken down to by this manager who has only been at this location since September 2014 or the new cashier that I have previously spoken to on the phone before and that is just as rude as the Manager and has made mistakes that other employees have had to fix for me on previous items I purchased.

The manager was quick to offer up that he has been with the company for over 19 years. I really don't care how long he's been with the company. What I care about is that I'm treated properly and with respect after all, It is the customers that pay his salary.

I will not be going back to this location again and taking my business elsewhere to which he cavalierly made a comment that he was fine with that. I will also be calling the customer service line again and speaking to someone in corporate about this. It was unprofessional how I was treated. Corporate policy is one thing. Respect and good customer service is another.

After reading this I think my point is proven to the public about what kind of attitude I had to deal with and will further refrain from responding for the following reasons:

You are the counter person and not the manager responding to this.

My complaint was against your boss and his handling of the situation as I realize you are new in your position at Advance Auto Parts and have to defer to his leadership.

In closing, I have over 20 years customer service experience in several different industries and my advice to you is to deal with your anger in more constructive ways especially when its not your situation to deal with. You are taking this way to personal and its not your problem to handle. Let your manager handle his store and account for his actions.

I could have said much more than I did online, I could have gone into detail about how you didn't check a part I ordered to see if it included a component that I specifically asked you about to which you told me I had to order it seperately. Which cost me more money because you didn't open the box and check it for me as I requested on the phone. I then had to make a special trip back to your store to return it because Advance auto parts system doesn't update immediately and they couldn't credit it back until it did.

Again I realize you are a new employee, I didn't make an issue of it. Respectfully leave this issue for your manager to handle. I will not be responding to any more of your rebuttles. Good Night.

Customer service...

Customer service doesn't mean break all the policies and rules to give YOU your way. When even the customer service line tells you THE EXACT SAME THING, YOU still try and get your way. what was done THEN doesn't mean can be done NOW!!!! Most policy changes occur AFTER the beginning of a new year. Which means that you are correct in that they USED to do it but DO NOT do it NOW. YOU are one of those people who live in the past TOO MUCH!!! YOU USED TO BE YOUNG but you are not NOW. The same theory applies. Exactly how much of YOUR BS are they supposed to swallow in the name of "customer service". Odds are the manager was NOT rude or cocky and YOU use that as a buzz word. YOU KNOW YOU ARE WRONG!!! Yet YOU take to the web and CRY like a child that YOU didn't get your way. I hope they do go after YOU for the defamation THAT YOU HAVE PUT ON THE WEB!!!! YOU should be talked down to. When YOU act like a child then YOU get treated like a child. Perhaps if you do not wish to have people talk down to you, maybe its time for YOU to act like an adult. See YOU are transparent. I can tell YOU EXACTLY what YOU were thinking. You had a bill or YOU needed money. So YOU take a item YOU ordered online and expected that THEY would do as they have done for YOU in the past and give YOU a cash refund. But once YOU got into the store and found out that not only would you NOT be getting money back IMMEDIATLY and in cash but that it was going to take time to process to get that money back, YOU WENT APES*!!!! Sorry but this is on YOU!! On YOU for being LESS of an adult then USUAL!!!! GROW UP!!! Or atleast TRY and act like an adult in public. You tend to find that "rude" complaints ALWAYS come from people with LESS maturity then your average consumer. YOU are a self entitled moron who expects EVERYTHING done to make YOU happy. Have YOU forgotten that YOU are defaming OTHER PEOPLE?? No much better to blame THEM for YOUR short commings. YOUR first amendment rights DO NOT PROTECT YOU when YOU use defamation in a media outlet like the web!!! If YOU want respect then YOU have to show some as well. YOU can NOT go through life DEMANDING respect when YOU act out in public. That manager is correct, YOU can go somewhere else that will PANDER to you. But unfortunately THAT is going away. Why?? BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU!
