Afni Collections Attempt to Collect a Verizon Debt ripoff Bloomington Illinois

I too have been contacted by Afni, stating that I owe Verizon money from an account in Albany.

The problem is that I have been a Verizon cell phone user and Verizon phone user in my home. Not once has anyone from Verizon tried to collect on my supposed debt.

From what they told me (and what I remember), my account/debt is from 1995. Which means that the debt is over 11 years old. Doesn't that exceed the SOL of reporting on your credit report? Doesn't that exceed the SOL for any court action also?

How does Afni have our SSN to report us? Is that legal for a company to give away our information?

There is no way I could possibly owe the amount of money they claim on a phone bill and not have been contacted by anyone except by Afni. It makes no sense.

I will be writing a letter to ask for debt validation and proof of when the account was active. I will send the letter return receipt. Does a P.O. Box allow that?

I will also contact my attorney. This is ridiculous.
