AIU London, Ripoff AIU lied, deceived and misrepresented the facts on transferablity of credits, financing, coursework, low standards London England

Just posting a warning to all hopeful designers out there, this school is a total rip-off. You will get alot of run a round when you ask the most basic of questions, such as:

transferability of credits - I originally started at Brown College which apparently their classes only count for 3 credits per class, and AIU apparently counts their classes as 5 per class. I asked many times if my credits would transfer and they told me yes, however, they never told me about the difference in the "point" system, I thought it would be the same since they are owned by the same company and both are American colleges.

courses- which they will send you a very impressive list, but in reality the classes you need at the time you need them may not be offered for either lack of a teacher or lack of students.

experience of the teachers in the design field are mostly failed designers, hence they are teaching to fill a gap in their income,and have little to no relevant experience in their field.

financing, don't even get me started, they never know when your finances will be available or how much you'll be getting to actually live off of, and hey, we all like to eat!

the classes are a joke, there is no real work or concepts ever discusses to any in depth detail, usually just briefly talk about common sense issues, that don't require a degree!

they accept anyone into their University, half the students couldn't speak English and the other half usually dropped out by the second week!

if you have the ability to receive Federal loans, they will accept you to get your money, you will receive an education, just not one that actually relates to what you wanted to study, more like the here's all your debt, open your eyes, cuz you are now screwd!

you should all know that STUDENT LOANS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR BANKRUPTCY!!!! it's nearly impossible to get your student debt forgiven through bankrupcy, so don't consider that to be a back up option.

it is a very bitter pill to swallow!!!! i didn't have any parents to help me out financially, and with all the mix up with my transfer credits, and the fact that if you are planning to live in the UK after you graduate, the UK does not recognise AA degree's, therefor you have to upgrade to a BA, that's 2 more years of study and financial worry!!! i now owe over $120k and feel i have learned very little in the Graphic Design course at AIU London. I NOW WORK AS A SECRETARY AND AM TOO AFRAID TO MOVE BACK TO THE USA BECAUSE OF ALL MY DEBT!

BEWARE, ONLY 35% OF STUDENTS ACTUALLY GRADUATE FROM THIS PROGRAM, TUITION IS OVER 4,100 POUNDS STERLING PER TERM!!!!!

there are few jobs out there, so please becareful!!!!

in the 3 years i was there i never once opened a book or had a test, everything is based on course work, which no matter how poorly a student does the teacher will most likely pass them and just tell them to work harder next time for the portfolio!?
