AIU LONDON Financial Inconsistency,NO information regarding tax forms, Pressure into signing forms, investigation of embezzlement in 04, poor teaching staff, unsatisfied students London United Kingdom

I moved from california to london in 2004. Thats when it all changed.

I've been registered with AIU-London since 2004. Upon arriving I had immediate trouble with financial aid, as they did not know when they where going to be distributed. Within the first three months of attending AIU their were rumors of the finance department being investigated of embezzlement. My first instinct was to leave, but my dedication and purpose of moving to London got the best of me. I immediatley went to my student portal and into my account and start to print out all information on my financial state (which I still have). I kept doing this every six months to see if any extra charges or inconsistency where being made to tuition fees. When checking I found that I was being charged less on my tuition one term then more on the next, and since I didn't use all my loans and had extra money, no one informed me on what happend to that money I didn't use for that term, too this day I still dont know where that money has gone too or to who.

can i just say that before making a decision to move to london, the admissions representative from atlanta-buckhead andrew oyler (who convienently doesn't work there anymore) told me that I would need to only apply for 60,000 dollars to pay for the entire degree program. Which upon arriving to london i found out that wasn't the case. Everything happend so quick, the registration process and like others who were scamed into registering with them, i fell into their trap, and the feeling of moving into another country over exceeded my natural instincts of suspicion of the process.

I also found out that several of my friends who left becuase AIU gave them problems regarding financial aid, are now suing or in the process of suing AIU, or will be filing a lawsuit against them. Becuase they trick you or pressure you into signing forms that you dont want to. When you ask all the right questions they either pause and shrugg the questions off or change topics or give a whole lot of jibberish to get you confused or to make you loose interest on what you want to know from them. And most to of the time they don't know.

After being at the Aiu london campus I entered the Interior Design department, where I had many dissapointing experiences from being demeaned, humiliated, and outcasted from staff and not students. I left AIU in summer of 2006, becuase I reached my limit with financial aid and becuase I was having problems within the ID department staff and my gpa wasn't up standard I left. In 2008 I returned to AIU against my own judgement, but my dedication and reason for being in London which is to get a degree, took over my better judgement. Once again after registering I ran into some financial problems, where it took more than two months to get my loans and which the school gave me (without notice to myself) and in-house loan to cover the cost of classes. I also found that some of the new staff in the ID department where not Interior Designers, or even had teaching credentials or even teaching at all!!! THEY HAVE PRODUCT DESIGNERS TEACHING INTERIOR DESIGN, ONLY TWO FEMALE INSTRUCTORS ONE QUALIFIED. These new instuctors sit on their a*s and eat and talk about movies and flirt with students. till this day I have yet too see what I have learned from them and that is NOTHING. I also had one of these instructors sabatoge my work which led to fail the class, I had to fight for a grade appeal which last almost 6 months, becuase I was being ignored by the dean, admissions, and other members of staff regarding this matter. OH have I mentioned that this campus is on their 4th or 5th president. Also tutors in other departments being fired for bribes as well as in the ID department. Several students including myself have maid several complaints regarding this and nothing has been done, all we get is 'I understand' and ' We are looking into this.'

when asking past graduates if they learned anything from AIU and their response is NOTHING, it seems that you have to kiss a*s in order to pass your classes.

I reecently made the concious decision to change my degree from a BA to and AA so that I will be done with this hell whole of a rubbish school, but came to find out that they wont allow me to even do that regardless if I have enough credits. I also found out that since my loans arent processed yet and they wont be again until a month later I have not money to cover my classes. so they offered an RIC payment plan which is a In-house loan to cover just my tuition, which I would have to pay back with interest, in case my loans dont come through I would owe the school money. I said no, and would rather wait until my loans come through. Well they kept saying that is not possible as I have to pay for my class now or set up the payment plan. Well I said to them, 'then I am afraid that I wont be signing that payment plan form so I wont be returning to the university.' Even though I had already registered for the classes, they emailed me stating to come in and speak to them. well I did go and speak to them and was litterly pressured to make a decision on signing this payment plan as my loans had not been processed. plus on top of it i needed a co-signer for this in-house loan. I said to them no, and they kept insisting, I said 'even if i do decided to sign, I can't as I need to consult my co-signer,' they offered the phone for me to use , i rejected as I said, ' this is a private conversation I had to do it outside the office' they wouldn't end the meeting and kept insisting with full force to accept and sign this form as that day was the last day for add/drop classes. Finally the other staff member jumped in and informed me that they would be able to let me go ahead and speak with the co-signer and too go ahead and sign the payment plan and to contact them first thing in the morning to cancel it after coming to a decision and I wouldn't get charged for anything. The following day I emailed them as instructed to cancel the plan, they completly ignored me, as they did not email me back with any response. The following day (2 days later) I emailed them again stating them to contact me asap through email as I know they check their email frequently, and upon recieving a response from them I come to find out I have to pay the late registration fee of 500 pounds ($1,000) which they convienently forgot to mentioned. This is what I had been telling all along that I wanted to avoid and they tricked me into signing something against my will promissing no charges.

I am frustrated and enraged that they ignored my statements that I made again and again, I know I should have known better but this greedy money hungry establishment are real sneaky, and are willing to say anything to get peoples money.

I also never recieved any information regarding filling tax forms. I only recieved one type of form and that was it.

they also have a list of students who have filled lawsuits against them and are not allowed under any circumstances back on the premicese, my former roomate is on that list as she found out that they are doing some dodgy financial bussiness, with students finances.

If someone could please help me in beginning a lawsuit or advise me on what steps I need to take.
